Why would you think this is a good idea.
led-naruto wrote:No. Given how different they have treated the formula of the other games they have worked on (Metroid Prime, main example), I don't think they should take on Smash Bros.
I mean, Prime is great and all, but it's different from the previous Metroid games.
Plus, making a crossover game that big is difficult, and takes a lot of time and research for it, even with the experience. I would prefer if an inner source that worked in the facilities (or at least HAL) worked in this, and Sakurai is fit for the job.
So sorry but I can't really trust this franchise to Retro Studios. In fact now that I have played Kid Icarus Uprising I'm eager to see what Sakurai can do in the 3DS than in the Wii U version.

I'm guessing that since Nintendo has a number of forgotten franchises this gen (Star Fox, Wave Race, F-Zero, 1080, etc.) and that have shown that they're more than capable to create high quality games (the Metroid Prime series, Donkey Kong Country Returns), Retro is seen as the go-to team for something awesome.
As much as I liked F-Zero GX on Gamecube, Nintendo may not work with Sega again on the franchise (WTF?). For once, I hope they ignore Miyamoto and have something with Sega (even though Amusement Vision is no longer with the living). Besides Sega, who else would you trust to handle the next game?
As for Star Fox, Namco had their chance, and many believe that Retro Studios can do better.
As for Wave Race & 1080, what the hell is NST doing!? What have they been doing for the last 5 years except for Mario vs Donkey and friggin' clock/calculators? If Retro or anyone wants to step up and develop something for the Wii U, please do.
