Um... Where did you get that from? 3rd parties LOVE money. They just don't want to put in any effort to get it. They're so used to Sony and MS, in their bids to outdo each other, throwing money at them or advertising their titles for them or any other number of idiotic things they've been doing for years in order to get 3rd parties to prefer them. Thing is, we're starting to see the issues of that kind of business. Issues like 3rd parties following Sony and MS right over the cliff into the HD era. Not even they were willing to prop up 3rd parties as much as they needed to in order to keep the industry from seeing such massive losses this generation.
As for the conspiracy from the gaming media, sorry to tell you but it does exist. Again, explain how the Wii U went from a know new console (if I knew this then all the news sites knew it as they had access to all sorts of behind the scenes info directly from Nintendo themselves) to an unconfirmed maybe it's a new console or maybe it's an add-on controller for the Wii. There is no way any of these sites didn't know exactly what it was and yet, what did they post? We're not sure what it really is.
That is a conspiracy any way you want to slice it.
Prove to me that there is any way that they couldn't know what the Wii U was and I'll believe you and admit I'm wrong. You can't though because that would require you to believe that Nintendo didn't send them any information before hand, let alone the numerous leaks before E3 confirming the new system, and that none of them were watching the same E3 conference that I was.
The stupidity is, and continues to be, palpable.
