Even more hope for Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed on Wii U

A portion of a Metro interview with Sumo Digital producer Joe Neate...

M: In terms of the formats the game's on, has Nintendo told everyone not to announce Wii U games? Because it seems impossible to imagine this, and various other recently announced games, aren't going to be on it.

JN: I couldn't possibly tell you. [laughs]

M: You couldn't tell me because you know or because you don't know?

JN: [laughs] I… couldn't possibly tell you. But I agree with you, wouldn't it be a great idea to get this onto a platform like the Wii U!

Both: [laughs]

I understand Nintendo wants to build massive hype on E3 but dddaayyyuuummmm. Everyone is so freaking tight lipped about games on Wii U. Is it really going to hurt the system if developers reveal the games they are working on, especially the multiplat ones.

Hopefully it does. Mario Kart just doesn't do anything for me lately, and I'd really like to get into another quality cartoon racer.

"Wii U is kind of a special case," Joe Neate said via translator at a press Q&A last week. "The way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game."

Sorry, I wanted to do it some day

Even more hope for Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing Transform

I wonder what they will do with a Wii U version, or if it will just be a Wii U version with no flairs.

Not that I care, but it'd determine where my purchase goes.

I like to have my games, preferably, paired together on the same system (or family of systems) if I can help it. For consistency's sake.

But if the Wii U version has something crazy, then I may consider getting that one over the 360. I mean, Ubisoft's already tempting me with the Wii U version of Rayman Legends.

Guess we'll see.
