That is correct. And the difference in sales between Europe and NA is made up for because PS3 sells well in Japan, and 360 doesn't even register on the radar over there.

Analysts who are supposed to know at least something about the game industry need to wake up and realize Nintendo is coming off their best selling handheld and console systems, they beat both their competitors in sales by a large margin, they do not need saving. This is seriously getting old.

Strategy Analytics - Game console sales to slump 20% in 2012

I understand that these analysts probably have families to look after, but if a reviewer can get fired for giving his opinion, it would be a crime to not fire these idiots who have failed to do their jobs properly for the past 5 years. It just would't be fair on the rest of the world.

Strategy Analytics - Game console sales to slump 20% in 2012

To me, the only REAL problem Nintendo needs to be saved from is from bad (probably biased) analysts and biased press/developers saying that Nintendo won't be successful with the Wii U, spewing doom and gloom bs to a console that's not even been released yet, that want to see Nintendo's demise and they should forget the console race and go 3rd party.

This article is 100% right. Wii U can't save Nintendo. Cant save something that doesn't need saved.

Apparently these guys don't remember Nintendo being successful with a third place Gamecube.

People will buy Nintendo games by the truckloads and Nintendo can easily survive on them alone. I don't think they are content with just surviving, but if they wanted to go 64 dream team again, they very well could. It may not produce a mainstream billion selling console, but they will profit just like they have with all their systems('cept maybe virtual boy, but i don't know.)

I'm not saying Nintendo can't fail, that would be dumb. Just as dumb as saying the Wii U has to somehow save Nintendo.

Strategy Analytics - Game console sales to slump 20% in 2012

So basically what they're saying is this console gen lasting 6 years for Nintendo (7+ for Microsoft and possibly Sony) has nothing to do with the consoles sales.

Let me put it like this, there are only so many homes video game consoles are going to make it into and when other devices are producing the same visuals as the current consoles and PC's that can play games decently go for around the price of PS3/360 when they first launched, it's definitely time for new systems.

Analysts need to do a better job analyzing.
