I really hope this is more evidence that Android is coming to Wii U. That would make Nintendo a real player in the next gen wars.

that guy sure likes to dance around a subject , and i'm still listening even though e3 is fairly close
so let's see , at least 512mb for the os that should mean at least 512mb for the games , it could be a third so one gig , a fourth and that would make 1.5go . Beyond that i'm not so sure . Video chat , drawing chat i could see that taking a lot of space . Hopefully it's not a made up rumor

512 MB of RAM for an OS is huge, because I don't believe it's Windows :lol:

So, I assume this is both good news (that Nintendo is using current gen online features used in the current gen consoles, but improved) and bad news (the OS of the XBOX 720 & the PlayStation 4 could easily trump the OS of the Wii U), correct?

It is to be expected that sony and ms will one-up nintendo in the online area just because they are launching one and two years after them. But if the OS can be updated in big ways then I wouldnt worry a lot.

Both. The source expands his info saying it has an exclusive amount of flash memory to store the os (not from the main flash storage, its separated), and it has reserved the same amount of system ram.

More neogaf digging suggest the system has an ARM processor that can run os features withouth use of the cpu or gpu.

Nice work!

I hope they keep the channel-like interface from the Wii and do a better Metro [the everything on one screen aspect - but better, I mean, Gaming on the 360 Dashboard is near the end, not the beginning for some random reason...!]

There was a user-made OS mock-up on one of the GAF Wii U threads I liked too. Forgot to save a copy though.

The PS4/X-Box 8 will only be a tiny bit better than the Wii U, technically, I predict [AKA the PS2/X-Box/Gamecube era].

And of course they'll have unique system and or controller features / gimmicks. That's how you stand out and, potentially, strike gold despite the lack of X, Y and Z [hello Wii].

that would be... weird. in fact, I think I would call it Saturn-esque. I've asked some of my game developer friends what that would be like for them, waiting on replies.

I have been thinking that arm proccessor in the Wii U tablet would make a ton of sense. I would change Unreal 4(the money that would go in the specs that runs Unreal 4) into arm soc in the tablet. It would be huge third pillar, and it would be called GameBoy 2012 and it would make waves that would reach all the way to the cafe.

For smaller 3rd party niche titles it has. Just got Sakura wars the other day, awesome awesome game.
I know you were sarcastic, but I always enjoy it when comments like this blow up in the users face :lol:
