RUMOR - TT Games employee gets fired, may be sued for Wii U controller image leak

This comes from system development consultant, Erlend Wollan...

Dev at Traveller's Tales who leaked updated WiiU controller (now with sticks!) already fired and may be taken to cort. Respect NDA's folks.

When you sign a non-disclosure agreement, you're supposed to stick to it! You can bet that Nintendo takes those very seriously.

RUMOR - TT Games employee gets fired, may be sued for Wii U

Wow, that sucks.

While I do feel bad for him and hope he'll be able to find a new job soon, that wasn't the most practical thing to do. ( I appreciate the image though~! ouo; )

I'd be willing to bet even if he didn't know it was illegal, he knew he shouldn't have done it. It's cool to get a sneak peek though.

Yeah... I wouldn't doubt this being true. And I do feel for the guy, but... certainly can't blame Telltale or Nintendo.

RUMOR - TT Games employee gets fired, may be sued for Wii U

I can understand being fired, but taken to cort on top of that? All over a single image? That must suck big time. :( What happened to the person who leaked that Ubisoft trailer that showed off the NFC features? Surely that was a bigger deal?

EDIT: Btw, I hate how saying cou*rt translates to cort on this board.

He knew alright, Nintendo are well known when it comes to their NDA and secrecy, and surly every employe are told this before they are given the job and told the rights agreement and what-not

If he feared the mighty hand of Iwata he wouldn't have leaked it in the first place.

I have heard that breaking an NDA agreement is considered to be copyright infringement by the government.

I'm sorry, but you shouldn't have any misunderstandings when you sign an NDA. It's all right there.

While I do feel bad that he lost his job and am glad he was so excited about the Wii U controller to share that picture via Twitter, I can't help but feel that he wasn't the only one that was harmed from that photo being released. The worst thing about that tweet was that it jumped the gun of Nintendo's own intended E3 2012 revelation (while the employees of Nintendo and other companies have had the respect to be silent for a year or more already). It takes away the bang of their intended revelation, and that's why it's so serious that he pays for it with his job. An example has been made. As for being taken to cort, that's another legal reality of this situation and I think it's appropriate.

jesus christ they need to calm the heck down. So we now know the controller has analog sticks whooptido, I'm sure that us knowing it a few weeks earlier than they'd have liked us to will hardly kill anyone.

What difference will it actually make. They have one less thing to talk about at E3 now, actually sod that, they'll talk about it anyone and act as if the leak never happened and that we've never seen the final design of the controller (assuming that was the final design) so really what's the big deal

Of course. If you have agreed to and signed a NDA that tells you not to reveal information, on no account should you do so.
