I'll repeat what I said last time Crapcom said something: They are full of turd.

Yeah I wouldn't trust VGchartz for sales data, sometimes they are right sometimes they are way off.

Still I thought this did well as of 2010 it did 1.8 million worldwide in four months (from a Capcom themselves not VGchartz). However I did read a while ago that most of the sales came from Europe which actually had a ad campaign supported by Nintendo (in the UK anyway). Problem is this is pretty much the same game with stuff added to it. Can't see why MH4 won't be released in the West and could do better especially if the 3DS is still unhackable.

I'm not fussed, I found the series to be very drab and dreary.

Monster Hunter 3G not likely for localization due to lack of

@MoldyClay

Wait no, the Mother series are a very different thing and can't be compared with this. Don't put them in this.

I'm talking about the corporative methods of Capcom and not about Nintendo feared of lawsuits. Two different things, nothing in common. Don't. Put them in the same category again.

Looks like someone else is taking charge of Capcom... Tri was supposed to sell well and Capcom even said it. Street Fighter X Tekken is repeating the same mistake Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is doing. There is no other logical answer.

But MH3 sold better in the US than any other MH game before, on a system who's audience is mostly casual. That's gotta count for something.

Monster Hunter 3G not likely for localization due to lack of

Postby Chosenoneknuckles » 26 May 2012 13:43

Oh boy...

Tbh, it sold as well as could be expected for an MMO-like game [that isn't WoW] in the west.
And from the way I hear people speak of DLC and Online regarding Nintendo systems, then not many would be willingly to pay for anything to support development / server costs either [despite MANY doing having done the very same for 360 Gold subs, Capcom's 'DLC' etc. for years now].

So fees probably would've dent sales further.

... They should just skip this 3G+ version and give everyone in the west the 4th entry instead really.

Monster Hunter 3G not likely for localization due to lack of

If that is really their reason for not bringing it here, then it's kinda stupid. They released Monster Hunter Tri on Wii at a time where Wii's popularity was starting to decline. The 3DS is in the opposite position at the moment.

Guys, it's Sven. Sven knows nothing, and therefore always talks out of his bottom hole.

Monster Hunter Tri was the best selling Monster Hunter game in the West and also received numerous accolades among reviewers and fans alike. To not continue Monster Hunter outside of Japan given the series' momentum is pure idiocy on Crapcpom's part.

Monster Hunter Tri actually sold better than any other Monster Hunter title in North America.

I really don't understand what this guy is trying to say.

I understand everyone's frustration, but this statement didn't come from Capcom. Plus, we have heard differently about the possible future for the MH series from Capcom themselves - suggesting that we might well indeed get MH tri localized. And given that the Wii outing did really well, it would be stupid to abandon a potentially growing fan base in the US. Have patience and wait for E3. We should hear either way at the expo.

Maybe they just want us to be disappointed on purpose, that way when they announce it at E3 they think we'll be extra happy.

Capcom, if you want to build an audience for a game series, you need to release more than one title on one system. Monster Hunter games, the few released in the US, are all over the place. Pick a system and build an audience. Dropping a MH game here and there on different systems is like trying to launch a new series over and over again but never giving it a chance to grow.

Poopaloop wrote:Capcom, you're an embarassment. I really can't take much more of their blaming fans/would-be-purchasers on their crappy decisions.

It didn't sell as well as you wanted, on that system that didn't have many hardcore fans (due in no small part to your crappy support beforehand?) So learn from it. Launch again on the 3DS. ADVERTISE.

It's your job as a publisher and developer to MAKE customers want your product. It is NOT the job of customers to goad you in to making products. Their victim attitude is really starting to bug me.

They blamed the fans for killing off MML3 also. They are a disgrace of a company these days.

At this rate, Capcom will most likely only localize Street Fighter and Resident Evil.
