I miss ACTUAL hand-drawn cover art. That basically stopped in the Playstation/N64 era. They thought, along with having 3D games, that the box art should have (often crappy looking) pre-rendered art as well. No thanks.

I love the old NES/SNES era game covers. No, not all of them were good. But I'll take Dino City over 99% of the game covers NOWadays. In a heartbeat.

The 20 worst SNES covers ever - part 2

Seeing Aerobiz Supersonic on the list made tear up a little bit.
I wish I'd never thrown away my old Nintendo game boxes. If only they were plastic, like Sega's...

Hand-drawn box art still exists.

For example, look at the covers of Fire Pro Wrestling Returns (PS2), Zack & Wiki (Wii), Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Guilty Gear (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), and Okami.

Oh I know it still exists. It's just sadly incredibly rare to see.

Smash Bros. Brawl was great because it had a cool hand-drawn cover. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword both did too.
