Molyneux says it's time to celebrate devs, AAA gaming not going anywhere

“Not so long ago, publishers suppressed a lot of the early interesting characters in the games industry. We use to have the Bitmap Brothers, and these were quite celebrated people, but it wasn’t in the publisher’s interest to celebrate these people. If more of these celebrities were trusted, then maybe we wouldn’t have so many sequels.” - Peter Molyneux
Molyneux also discussed the AAA game market, saying that it's definitely safe.
“It (AAA game market) is not going anywhere. There’s interesting research here comparing sales success with Metacritic scores. Publishers are becoming more and more obsessed with Metacritic bands. I think that’s going to squeeze the number of titles that come out. I think at E3 there were about 500 titles and last year we had 1000. I wouldn’t be surprised if that shrunk to sub 100 titles.”
