Check out this blurb from a Gamasutra interview with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick...

While Take-Two will make sports and family titles for the Wii U, its bigger core franchises have been notably absent from the list of partners. And that seems unlikely to change anytime soon.

"We haven't announced anything," says Zelnick on the possibility of moving the company's mature titles onto the Wii U. "I'm skeptical."

Well, there go our hopes of having GTA V on the Wii U. Way to be supportive, Take-Two! Give the quick cash-in titles to Wii U and the meaty experiences to the other platforms.

Apart from Bioshock...which so far has had one great title and one "meh" title, they don't offer anything else to me. I burned out on Borderlands so not fussed on that sequel and GTA hasn't been fun for me since Vice City and Saints Row has kept me busy in that genre.

Its a shame for everyone else though and I hope they change their tune but it's not as if Nintendo has pushed the so called "core" titles other than the odd comment here and there. E3 they spent more time showing Just Dance 4 & that singing game than the likes of Aliens or even their own Project-1000...not something people who watch E3 would want.

yea, I'm not too upset by the lack of GTA. it's not really my bag of tea, but having certain series on your console gives the impression that your machine is not a kid's toy. GTA is one of those series. and it becomes a domino effect "well, if take two isn't putting core games on the system there must be a reason, so we here at X are just going to avoid that risk and follow suit" and then it's 2 publishers doing it, then 4, then most of them.

The WiiU is going to be the Wii all over again as far as 3rd parties are concerned.

3rd parties do not like Nintendo, they never have... I think Nintendo could release a suped up console and 3rd parties will still be like " not sure about the console yet ". I think it boils down to the fact that they are jealous of Nintendo's Ips and skills at creating games. There is no excuse for GTA to not be on the Wii u its so early in development...

If they felt they could make money on the system, they would do so. This is business. not elementary school. "like" has zero to do with it. Dollars have everything to do with it.

For a big game like GTA5 its up to Nintendo to work with Rockstar to make sure Take2 makes it happen. We know that Rockstar North has been working on something for Nintendo so I still expect GTA5 on WiiU.

As things are right now on the Wii U front, I could care less. There's so much to worry about with the launch alone!!! So many great titles, an awesome new system with amazing controls and social integration right out of the box, and so little money for all of it....... this is not consequential to the success of Wii U.

Nintendo should forbiden third-partys of lauching so much casual titles to the Wii U. People wants to get a lot of money selling casual content in nintendo consoles but don't want to sell hardcores in nintendo plataforms? Go to hell!

The common poser will be upset by not having GTA on their Wii U's, but then again, the common poser dont play nintendo systems because "they are for kids".

I don't care for GTA at all, they sucked back on PS1, and they suck now.

HOWEVER, this is just further proof of the hole Nintendo dug themselves into with the Wii and how hard it going to be the change peoples minds. Thinking otherwise is just plain stupid.

Why do developers think it works that way. there's no demand if you don't create it, no nintendo owner gives a s*** about GTA because they never release them on our systems. And yet developers act surprised. "WE FINALLY RELEASE OUR HRRRDCORE GAME ON NINTENDO SYSTEM AND IT DOESN'T SELL WHYYYYYYY" Because you never created a fanbase here.

I would think that for people who can program 1s and 0s into awesome games, would have more common sense. However I guess that's not the norm

I'm not totally indifferent with GTA Wii U, and I always have PC. I was REALLY looking forward to playing LA Noire on Wii U though.

I'm sure, that this statement is either due to negotations with certain console manufacturers, who don't wish GTA 5 to be released before their consoles, or to get better deal from Nintendo.

Its not like porting would be THAT expensive, that leaving as expensive games as what they do unported would be the most economical thing to do.
