Can't they.... you know.... give ONE free DLC? Isn't it just a character? It makes Nintendo looks like Capcom...

Sweet, they didn't change her design too drastically. I'm definitely going to buy her.

Some of the DLC was free for the first month after the game's release.

The characters come with their own brand-new maps, and are completely optional to the main game which is quite lengthy itself, as opposed to Capcom locking characters that were already on-disc.

Fire Emblem: Awakening - next round of DLC

Postby Broken_Cartridge » 28 Jun 2012 13:27

@Hisiru It's not only a character. You get mission(s?) to do with the character and then they are also added to your squad.

The difference between Nintendo and Capcom is that Nintendo didn't purposely hold stuff back. This DLC was made after the game was released, and they should get revenue for it.

Fire Emblem: Awakening - next round of DLC

Postby Hisiru » 28 Jun 2012 13:28

@Nintendude92
Some DLCs gives you a new character + side story/quest.

But this DLC is probably just Lyn

-EDIT-
@Broken_Cartridge
@PaperLink64
If this is the case, then I was wrong. I thought some DLCs were just the characters and nothing else.

@Hisiru To my knowledge, all of the DLC has been the way that you're describing

Edit:@MoldyClay The first wave of DLC was free for the people who bought it when it first came out.

Fire Emblem: Awakening - next round of DLC

Postby MoldyClay » 28 Jun 2012 13:30

@Hisiru

NOPE.

You get the character, a new class object which can be used on everyone and if I am not mistaken, you get new missions that you get to play as well.

It's not really that bad of a price for a new character, class and level.

I agree they need to do some free DLC or something though. At least we should get some free DLC if we get it immediately when it comes over here.

EDIT: Ninja'd by people.

On that note, I think they should put some of the characters on Club Nintendo. But that makes too much sense.

Yeah, I edited that. I mean I hope that we get the same deal when it comes to North America/etc.

Do not like this artist rendition at all! Pose is awkward, she's veering into Japanese sex doll territory, and it looks like she only has room in her shoes for three toes.

Only in 2013! :wink:
3 basis steps to improves nintendo´s activities:

- Iwata should be take off from the presidency;
- Reggie should be put in some place out of NOA's presidency;
-Miyamoto should take a slap of sense to start caring again for the hardcore gamers.

I don't see how that pose is awkward, and Japanese sex doll territory? Really? How on Earth is this art even remotely comparable to one? I've already explained that the feet thing is just a matter of how Miwa Shirow drew them; it's present in a lot of his other works.

Pichi wrote:Not a fan of this design. Too many things are "off" for her design.

That's implying that these DLC character designs are supposed to be "on" in the first place. They aren't supposed to.

What you're saying is no different from going to a seafood restaurant, eating a fish meal, and complaining that it doesn't taste like chicken.

Or so they tell you. =_=

Here's another idea. How about they take all the great ideas they have and instead of trickling them out over time, they keep them until they can make a full-fledged sequel? That's how it used to be...

Oh, right. They wouldn't be able to charge you $5 per character. That's what, 1/8th the cost of a new game? They don't want you to think in terms of "percentage of a new game's MSRP," though. They want you to think, "Oh, it's a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I don't need that." :?

The only good DLC is free DLC which is available forever.

People play classic games all the time. Sometimes they even use the original hardware. Nintendo systems tend to last a long time, so what are the chances that say, in 2030, Nintendo is still selling this DLC because you want to play the classic Fire Emblem: Awakening? If it's less than 100%, then it's bad.

Should you be punished by not having a complete copy of the game just because of what year it is? DLC may be optional but it is still a part of the game.
