It's humorous that mobile is supposed to be better for smaller and independent companies but the big guys seem to be strong arming their way in.

Why is Android only hurting Nintendo and not Sony? Who says $30 to $40 games can't sell? They seem to be doing pretty good in my opinion. Nintendo has the best of both words with retail games and cheaper eShop games. They need to get the eShop up to par against the app store though. Bring some of those popular games over for the same price as opposed to almost double.

This mentality that video games are not and cannot be worth spending money on has just got to go. If you aren't happy with video game prices you don't have to buy them, but don't pretend that your two dollar app "game" is any kind of replacement to the experiences you can have on a gaming console, handheld, or PC.

why is it some developers claim that because of devices such as apple, android phones and being able to play games on them, this will kill handheld consoles and home consoles? because, there will always be a demand for consoles, and as long as people buy them and the games, then all this talk of phones destroying consoles is a joke.

I think it is wishful thinking on ngmoco's part -- because their space is failing harder than the console and handheld markets.

I get "Apps gone free" daily and do download some. There are a lot more that make me wonder why it was ever developed than those that i spend more than five minutes playing.

I'd say the reason these app developers want to see Nintendo go bust is because they KNOW they can't make stuff good enough for a full-fledged console and want their brand of shovel casual titles to be the only thing on the market.

Funny I didn't see the news that Nintendo went bankrupt. Oh wait, that didn't happen. So no one killed Nintendo. It could happen one day perhaps, I mean look at Atari, they were kings of the world before 1983 and their shovelware flood nearly killed the industry.

I also find it funny that he says they're dead and then later in the same paragraph says implies he fears them. Make up your mind dude.

And contrary to popular belief, people buy DS/3DS games other than Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/Kirby. People just want a game that isn't going to be a piece of crap. We're not going to pay $30 for shovelware garbage that wouldn't even be useful as a paperweight/coaster/etc.

I have had hard time to justify even downloading games, that are in sale for free. I have almost completely stopped downloading games to iPhone. Theres plenty other nice stuff to enjoy, but its gaming is drying badly.
