Any HarvestMooners?

You know them, and love them. If you want to talk Nintendo consoles/handhelds from the NES to Gamecube days, here is the perfect place. Virtual Boy welcome!

Any HarvestMooners?

I'm not much of a HM fan, as I've only played two. I played the one on the 64 (that one was amazing), and I played A wonderful Life on the Cube.

After playing AWL, my interest in the series completely disappeared, that game was horribly boring.

Thing that were wrong with AWL:
1) You can't see the ending unless you spend 120hrs into the game. There's no mission, you just have to spend 120 hrs.

2) Getting money is way too easy. You could buy all what you could possibly want in the first few years.

3) There's nothing to do in the game. I befriended everyone, got married, and bought house extentions in my first 3 years. Then, there wasn't anything left to do (besides planting crops, looking after the animals, and raising you kid... and by raising, I mean picking him up everyday and dropping him in a place that would influence his carrer choices in the future).

But, after seeing Magical Melody, I've suddenly got an urge to play it. Does anyone here own it? How does it compare to AWL?

I enjoyed the N64 one much better than AWL. AWL..just didn't hold my interest for very long. Not to mention the save file I had bugged up and I had start over. It wasn't worth the time and effort to start over, so I stopped playing. For the time I played it, it was fun but I just couldn't bare to play it anymore than I had. The N64 lasted me longer, and I actually got married.

As opposed to AWL, where I did not get married at all. :( Still, N64 HM= Best one thus far.

I haven't been able to get into any of the 3-D one. I loved the SNES one, and was a pretty big fan of the Gameboy Color one, as well. I liked the sound of the 3-D ones, but just couldn't get into moving around and watering plants like that.

I think the DS one will win me over quite a bit.

There are 2 for the DS. A "regular" one, and then there is Rune Factory. I think I might get Magical Melody & Rune Factory :)

are you reffering to A wonderful life, or another wonderful life? AWW AnotherWW, but i really liked them both. i wouldn't exactly consider them exciting, it's no metroid or mgs. but the second was deffinately better, and i must say im a fan.

I was talking about A wonderful life. But they're pretty much the same, AnotherWL just cleared up a few glitches and added some extra features.

AWL was boring to me, but soon (maybe in 1-2 months time) I will be getting Magical Melody. I've heard it's one of the best HMs to date, and that it has a LOT to keep you busy (as opposed to AWL).

I also didn't like the GC Harvest Moon games... the games seems to lose something in its transition to the Cube and in its 3D format. And Im not just talking about its goofy animation.

Game just isn't that fun, its DS version is looking very promissing though.

The only HM games I've played are Back To Nature (PS1), which I thoroughly enjoyed, and Save the Homeland (PS2), which I found extremely boring. According to the reviews I've seen on MM, it seems to be the best HM game for some time. It was on sale at Fry's last weekend for 35 bucks. I thought about picking it up, but I've got my hands full with other games right now. Besides, I think they sold the last copy while I was deciding.

Ya I'm a huge Harvest moon fan, I agree that AWL wasn't one of the finest in the series but it was still better than Save The Homeland. I beat that game in a single night and never played it again. I enjoy the GBA one (FoMT) and am looking forward to the DS version (rune factory is a differn't series)

So far thought I think that HM64 is the best.
