Very surprising info from a Japanese magazine...

This is from "Gaming Life in Japan" an IGN article.

They summarized info from Nintendo Dream, a japanese Nintendo magazine. Please focus on number five.

"Mario doesn't look half bad on the cover of Nintendo Dream, the only Japanese Nintendo magazine that's readable by people above the age of 5. While New Super Mario Bros. gets a good amount of space in the magazine, Animal Crossing is probably the bigger selling point this month, as the magazine includes a thick bonus booklet for the DS's biggest selling title.

This month's issue features a look back at March's Game Developers Conference, complete with four pages on the DS Zelda Phantom Hourglass (there's no new information -- just speculation based on the video trailer) and a report on the new PC Engine and Mega Drive additions to the Virtual Console.

Other big DS games getting coverage this issue include Mother 3, Magical Vacation, Final Fantasy III and Tales of the Tempest.

This month's Question Box column, a Q&A with Nintendo's Mitsuaki Hagishima, includes the revelation of continued GameCube support from Nintendo.

1. Asked when people will be able to buy a DS without any hassle, Hagishima says that it's difficult to respond. Nintendo shipped out 550,000 DS Lite systems in March, 100,000 more than it had originally announced. In April, the plan was to ship out 700,000 units, which is far above what one would expect for this time of the year. By April, Nintendo hopes to have the system readily available on shelves. Of course, we know that this didn't end up happening -- the DS Lite is still nowhere to be found.

2. The Revolution's virtual console will feature, not just classic games, but new titles -- titles with good ideas that are deemed to too small to sell at retail. Nintendo Dream adds to this that it appears Nintendo will have downloadable demos.

3. Hagishima jokes that he's preparing for E3 using Nintendo's English training software, Eigo Zuke.

4. Phantom Hourglass is the English name for the DS version of Zelda. The Japanese name will probably be different.

5. Nintendo isn't done with the GameCube software announcements just yet! GameCube will be getting more titles, including some sequels to series that are well known. Hagishima states that one of the titles in development will surprise people with the new kind of gameplay it achieves on the GameCube. He claims to have actually played the game and promises that it will be announced soon.

6. The DS browser software will be sold Online only. Nintendo is doing this because it believes the product requires some very specific knowledge, and it's worried that people will purchase it thinking that it will allow them to use the DS to access the internet at all times. Nintendo made its Play Yan multimedia device available Online only for the same reason.

7. Nintendo's Nouryoku Trainer brain training software was sold via a television shopping program -- a first for a Nintendo product, Hagishima believes."

What could it be...? :?

EDIT: I sent the info to Rawmeat, so I dont know if this should be locked or not. But I guess it would be better to keep the thread up for discussion.

Nintendo has always seemed to have the knack of releasing some of their best software at the end of a system's life cycle. Think of Earthbound, Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG for the SNES all came out when the Saturn and PSX were already on shelves and the N64 was on the way; Majora's Mask, Paper Mario, and Mario Tennis where hitting stores about the same time as the PS2. I was hoping for the same strong finish for the Cube but last year's holiday line-up was decidedly weak, to say the least. All things could be forgiven if they give us an awesome new Kirby title.
