Kirby GCN

You know them, and love them. If you want to talk Nintendo consoles/handhelds from the NES to Gamecube days, here is the perfect place. Virtual Boy welcome!

So, the gamecube's life is almost over and i haven't heard of a release date for this baby yet. What up?

My computer sucks at playing videos, but that screenshot almost had me tearing up. Is the game a sidescroller? If so, I pray to God that they've moved it to the Revolution.

Hm.. this is interesting. And I think its a side scroller in a 3D world like Smash Bros. The video made it look that way at least, I think its an awesome way to bring Kirby to the Gamecube :)

It just might have moved to the Revolution or they might release it for the Gamecube still. I think maybe the Gamecube will still live until the end of 2006. Or if rumors are true, the next portable system might even play Gamecube games (its just rumors.. but it would ROCK!)

That looked all kinds of fun. More like a Super Smash Bros. side scroller than what I've seen of traditional Kirby games, though it looks like a step in the right direction.

Curious to see what the game plays like now......research time.

I'm excited about this one too, first Kirby consle platformer since Crystal Shards.

Official word from EGM says it was delayed to Summer '06. Turns out Nintendo's going to support GCN for a while, as Sony did with the PS1.

Me likey.

I totally agree with LordTurbine. Shards was an awesome game...(i think i might just go play right now..) So i am definatly CRAZY!!! about this new game. I hope they add a lot more new bad guys with more abilitys.
(Remember the double energy saber ability in Crstaly Shards!!!! They HAVE to bring it BACK!!!) It will definatly be good..we will just have to "pause and anticipate"

I remember i bought Kirby64 for like $15 a week before Mario Sunshine came out! I was so desperate for some good platform fun I couldn't stand it! Good news about the Gamecube game, it's actually mentioned in this month's EGM in their 2006 Year in Preview feature. At least one of the screens looks new to me, though I still find it odd that Nintendo themselves hasn't mentioned anything about the game lately.

chances are since it is so late in the GCN life cycle that most titles for it are probably going to be repositioned for the Rev.

Crystal Shards was groovy. I'm in love with that game.

More of that would be OK with me.

It is sad that Kirby only got one outing on the Gamecube, and Airride wasn't really a genuine Kirby game. I kinda missed out on the N64 era, so I've never played Crystal Shards, but Kirby's Adventure was the best NES game in my eyes.

In terms of the new Kirby game, I think they started making it for the Gamecube, and then decided to ramp it up for the Revolution, like most of you have already said. I really hope that's the case, I'm really itching for a good Kirby game.
