First game you ever played

You know them, and love them. If you want to talk Nintendo consoles/handhelds from the NES to Gamecube days, here is the perfect place. Virtual Boy welcome!

the first console game i remember playing was the original SMB, when it was the 'new' thing. man that was a magical time.

other games that i remember from about the same time as first playing SMB: ikari warriors, jaws, contra, and of course duck hunt :)

It's sorta the same with me. I played games from a fairly young age, but I really didn't understand them at all. In an odd way, I just recently really started gaming.

Anyway, what brought you to the hobby, Lakster?

I'm not quite that sure... Well, I think it's probably because around that time I was exposed to it more. It was one of the main thing I'd do at my friend's house. But that was really a year or two before I even bought my Gamecube. I think the game that made me decide to get it was Wind Waker. I still can't understand why people could hate it so much! I would'nt be here today if it weren't for Nintendo, so I'm eternally greatful.

I think the first game I ever played was Super Mario Bros. 3, but by then it was kinda old. The first game I ever owned was Super Mario Land on my Game Boy Pocket. Ahh the memories....

I remember renting a Nintendo and borrowing Excitebike (or was it motocross?). It also came with Mario Bros.

For my birthday i got the big fat, grey, heavy Gameboy, and I LOVED it. I had tetris and Mario, and that game where you zap bricks to create holes to trap gnome things so you could collect the gold.
*edit* HYPER LODE RUNNER How could I forget you?

But I think my forst game was the downhill skiing game on Atari where you always got eaten by the abomidable snowman. I thought I was good enough to outrun him. I bet today I could.[/i][/b]

First one I played in my own house was Rambo First Blood back in the late eighties on my Commodore 64 :D Classic! I was a SEGA man all through the 90s and used to have fights at school with the Nintendo fans lol but now I love Nintendo :)

I can't remember the exact first game... but my first Nintendo game was obviously Super Mario Bros.

My uncle took me to walmart one day when I was maybe 5 or 6 and bought me my first NES. I played SMB/DH incessently until they would set an egg timer for 45 minutes to limit my play (because I would get frustrated and yell at the tv)

a month or so later they said they had 2 new games for me, so when we went to visit I got Commando and Top Gun.

Those are some of my first Nintendo Memories.

Super Mario Bros.

When I was 3 years old. hehe (of course it was SNES not NES)

Then I dabbled in everything else. I was also known for pwning others without ever reading the manual. And that was before pwning was even a word.

First Game I ever Played was called Battle Toads, or something like that. (I was 6-7) For the sega genisis, it was the cheapest system around (I think)

But the first Game I beat was Legend of zelda: Links awakening for Gba, also the first nintendo game I played.

Probably either Combat or Fast Food for the Atari 2600 when I was 3 or 4 back in 1983 or 1984. We got our NES in 1986 or so. But until then it was all VCS. Fast Food is the BOMB. Forget Adventure. It's all about eating as much as you can.

Also Video Pinball. It was one of those three games. Video Pinball is another awesome one.

Pole Position.

However, it was the original SMB that made me a gamer.

I'm really not sure...

I remember my dad had one of those games that were on the large flat floppy disks. The older ones. We learned about them when I took A+ training, but I don't remember any of that anymore. Anyway, it was some game where you were a cowboy.

I don't think I can attribute my fascination with gaming to any one game.
"In a news conference, Iwata said Wii isn't battling rivals directly because it's offering different, easier-to-play games." Hur-fing-ray.

Nice move, Nintendo. If you can't beat 'em, target another, easier to coerce, audience.

Judging from my memory, the first game i played was Super Mario Bros 1. My very first run through it was so n00bish, what happened is, i was on the first level and i jumped past the little hole, and i didnt realise that holding the B button down would make you jump past it easier. So i was pretty bad for my first run. Slowly i got better over time on the new super mario bros to come though :)

Probably the original Donkey Kong on Colecovision. (I think.) However, when I was three or so I kind of sucked at gaming and never made it past the first level.
