i used to have a ton of the Game & Watch things.. but over time they wore out. i might still have some of them, nonworking, but they were awesome. exactly the kind of game you could just pick up and play anytime, anyplace... and know what time it was ;)

my aunt and uncle have a complete set of the game & watch.. all mint condition with boxes, packaging, instructions, etc. that's gotta be worth a small fortune!!

i wouldn't be surprised if someone at nintendo had one of those dual screen game and watches, and realised that it was a great idea for revamping, but with modern technology. it's actually the first thing i thought of/remembered when i first saw/heard of the DS.. i was like 'what? that isn't really so new... it was around 20 years ago!' ;)

I still have a working Game and Watch. It's Popeye one of the 4 tabletop series of G&W in color.

Here's a link to a G&W site that has a pic:

I've been trying to get the Zelda Game & Watch forever! Seems like the perfect item to complete my collection! Unfortunatley, I think the only place I'd be able to get it would be E Bay...

Ah, dude! You haven't bought a handheld since the Game&Watch days? You should seriously get a DS! Graphics better than the 64's, the touch screen is awesome, built in mic, easy game play, great games. Five stars and three thumbs up in my book!

Slightly off topic, but still in the "legacy" electronics vein... did anyone ever have a "Teachin Teddy" ? It was this.... uh... thing that plugged into the TV and you used a VHS to learn and play along. My mom says that my dad heard it advertised on Stern one year at Christmas and they thought (joke's on them) that it'd make me real smart-like.

I *do* recall Teaching Teddy, though I think I considered it to be a Teddy Ruxpin ripoff. that like, tried to teach you instead of tell you silly stories about travel by airship.
