I recently read a article on spong and wanted to get your views.

Sales figures are very important to every company.

What do you think about xbox 360's executives claims that they would like to reach a billion units sold, to me thats bold talk. What makes matter even worse, is that once again xbox has failed to get the Japanese public going, even though it is early days yet.

Sony beng of course more real, reckon they can push 200 million units.

How many units do you think Nintendo are aiming for?

Thanx for the get well message and good ole capt n is recovering very well from operation.
The best idea wins

on behalf of a guest:

I have a question for all of ya, your podcast is so popular (and great!) but I was wondering how you got all this popularity. How did you start? I have a podcast also on iTunes called Following Revolution, or you can find it at http://followingrevolution.blogspot.com. I only get around 40 visits a day and I'm not even sure how many people listen to my podcast. Granted that the audio quality isnt the best, but we need a new microphone. I have google ads on my site bringing in very very little revenue, about $3 so far in almost a month. Once we can get more money from that we'll get a new microphone. But how can we get popular like you did?

E3 Question

Postby SAMus » 29 Dec 2005 06:27

What does it take to actually get into E3? Does it require any kind of press credentials? How much does it cost? Do you think Reggie can defy gravity? I do.

What do you think Reggie will pull out of his coat pocket this year?

Totally unrelated question: How do you feel about IGN's Nintendo coverage? Even the supposed Nintendo fanboys on IGN seem pretty weak to me. It never seems like they're saying, "Nintendo is great because..." but more like "Xbox 360 is a solid system and PSP is a good portable, but don't worry I still like Nintendo."

I love you guys and I love the site. Keep it up.

P.S. I checked out "Beyond Good and Evil" because you guys recommended it, and needless to say, it was a good decision.

Questions, questions, questions...hmm...heres a few...

What do you think of the rev controller? And how do you think it could be used in, lets say, a game like Star Fox or flight sims? How about games like Pikmin or AC, or fighting games?

What kind of music you guys like? More so, anyone like metal (Mudvayne!)?

And one more: Can i have 5 bucks? T_T

What? I need money too...

Here's a topic..

Postby HylianTom » 31 Dec 2005 09:25

Time to get a bit philosophical.

By which standard do you measure whether or not a console is "successful?"

Is it determined by which place it finishes in the so-called console war?
Is it determined by whether or not its parent company made a profit?
It it determind by what its reputation is at the end of its life cycle?
Is it determined by the quality of its games library?

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this matter.

Best wishes for E3; I'm really looking forward to your coverage. :D

What game of 2005 was the biggest let down?

Did any of you watch the Xbox 360 ICON episode on G4? It was an hour long, while other much more important things in video game history are only given half an hour. Miyamoto, Zelda, Atari, Yu Suzuki, and the very important to me The Rise and Fall of SEGA Hardware and the Spiders From Mars are only given half an hour. Those are important moments in gaming, man! While the Xbox 360 is given an hour. Microsoft most likely paid G4 a lot, but an hour for the 360? C'mon! It's like giving the Atari Jaguar an hour slot! Damnit!

On a simpler note, do you guys have any Independent theatres in your area? Or do you have to wait? I know since you live close to NY that you can see some Indie movies that aren't all that Indie (Brokeback Mountain, Syriana, Memoirs of a Geisha, and others.) But are there any actual theatres out there?

What's your favorite Snapple flavor?

Travel Boy

Postby Altheastronut » 02 Jan 2006 18:06

I used to be a Nintendo nut years ago and I subscribed to Nintendo power every year because that was the only place I got Nintendo information before the internet was rampant in every home. In your last podcast (#20) you mentioned the DS having an accessory that can translate or have functionality to do so. That reminded me of a product Nintendo mentioned in Nintendo Power about 10+ years ago called the Travel Boy. It was supposed to be great as a travel companion. From what I remember it had a multi language dictionary, a place for your itinerary, I think currency exchange, an alarm clock, and some other things I do not remember. I wish I still had my old Nintendo Power magazines so I could give you accurate info, but do you remember this at all, or have you even heard of it? I tried to do some digging but I've found nothing on the web. Keep up the excellent work.

Ok I got a few questions.

1. Out of all the Mario games, which one is your favorite? (Can be any Mario game)
2. Do you think they should release a demo disc for Twilight Princess, like they did for Wind Waker?
3. Which game would you like to see with wifi play on DS that has not already been announced?
4. What do you think of the idea of Super Smash Brothers on the DS?

Ok I'l stop at that, or else I'l keep on writing questions.. lol
What if I say I'm not like the others
What if I say I'm not just another one in your place

Re: Revo 2nd Feature?

Postby ConManDude » 02 Jan 2006 21:27

ConManDude wrote:A while back comcast.net posted an interview with a Hollywood producer. When the question was brought up about the possibillity of holographic movies he responded "holographic movies are for sure going to be in the near future, but movies will not be the first to utalize this technology. I know of a videogame company that will use this technology very soon"

Could this man be refferring to the Revolution? I think it would work perfectly with the controller. What are your opinions on this topic?

OK im just continuing on this, but just o say so.. It fits perfectly here are the reasons.

1: They talked about expanding beyond the four corners of the television
2: Mabey thats why they havn't shown any screenshots yet
3: What else could they reviel but the graphics
4: It IS Possible
5: The post was erased 1 day after posted because "it was considered confidential by an anonymus company"
7: Would work perfectly with controller

Postby 9 volt » 03 Jan 2006 08:01

we all know the big N has 'one more thing' to add to the revolution, but which of these do you expect it to be, and which would you most like it to be?

i. DVD playback as standard
ii. built in mic in the controller
iii. sega games to download
iv. use the DS wirelessly as another controller
v. the old downloadable nintendo games will have online options, so for example you'll be able to play classic super mario kart online
vi. you'll be able to buy a little memory card/cartridge for the ds which will allow to transfer your downloaded retro nintendo games (maybe 64, maybe not) over wi-fi to your DS to play on the run

personally i like vi. if you've bought the download, it would be awesome to transfer that to the ds for free.

any thoughts (especially in the podcast!) would be great

AC for Revo

Postby Laguna » 03 Jan 2006 16:16

This is more of an idea than a question as such, just give me your thoughts possibly?
How about having Animal Crossing to be actually built into the Revo, like how Sonic 1 was built into the master system. You could access it just by turning on the Revo without a disc in. The village could be like a place to change settings and such, kinda akin to the GameCube menu but far less dull.
You could go to your village and maybe talk to a certain animal who has latest demos you can get from him, and Tom Nook could sell old retro games.
You could also use it as a place to meet up and chat to friends prior to playing an online game with them.
The "home" button on the controller could be used to go straight to this actual home, instead of boring menus.
And maybe when you buy a game and say register it, like the VIP registration thing NOE have at the moment, your town could get new items or members, so say you bought and registered Mario then Bowser could stomp into your town or Zelda then Skull Kid could hang out.
Whaddya think? :?

from guest listener 'ugly':

First, I really enjoy the pod cast. It makes my Monday morning commute much nicer. Now the question.

I finished RE 4 a number of months ago and plan to play it again. It was an amazing game (but I had to play it with all the lights on!).

My question is which costume does the podcast crew prefer for Ashley, the schoolgirl skirt or the unlockable Brittney Spears type outfit. Also, will Ashley still accuse you of being a pervert if you look up at her when she is on something that is above you, even when she is not wearing a skirt?

Please keep up the great work.

REV+DS+CLASSIC GAMES=LOVE?

Postby marioman38 » 05 Jan 2006 00:18

Do you think it would be cool if Nintendo made it so the Revolution could transfer the classic NES,SNES,N64 and Sega games to the DS via WI-Fi

and

Do you think it is probable/likely that they will include this in either

A) A future DS remake

or

B) A software/firmware update

BTW... I LOVE your podcast, you guys are the BEST!!! I literally check your website five times an hour.... no joke.

Do you think that future online Nintendo games should include Voice Chat as a standard feature? Do you think that voicechat builds a community or is harmful to it?

Okay I have a few questions:

1. Have any of you guys tried your hand at either Fan-fics or fan-art? If so, how'd it go? Did people love it, or did it bomb?

2. What about TP makes you drool whenever you watch the trailer or see something about it? (Assuming that you are really excited about it).

3.What makes Nintendo your favorite gaming company (again assuming that it really is your favorite).

Okay, that's about it! But let me say that today I watched my very first Podcast, and it was awesome! Unfortunaly I don't have an IPod so I had to listen to it sitting at my computer (it's pretty long when you're sitting in a hard chair trying not to distract yourself from the Podcast, which I failed at when I saw some gameplay footage for TP, lol).

Dear GoNintendo,

Please reply to my question in your podcast this week!

Let me first say congratulations on getting mentioned on Nintendo's official website. You guys deserve it. I've been frequenting the site for the past 2-3 months, and this is the best source of news I've seen. Also, your podcasts are great. Much more enjoyable than most others I've seen on the net.

Now, as for the question:

What do you think could have been the rationale behind Nintendo waiting until only recently to start on the sequel to SSBM? And do you think it could make it for launch assuming the Rev. comes out by December of next year (and not disappoint)? This is knowing that it took 2 years of development just to make SSBM. I would have assumed Nintendo would play it safe with their best selling game on the GC, so I'm really confused as to why they would do something like this.

-Oblivion.

<< mod comment: the questions are answered in order for the most part...at the current rate, it'll be about 3 months before they reach this question. just a note :-\ --cortjezter >>

Do you guys wear pajamas to bed, or do you just sleep in you clothes? I sleep in my clothes fer darn sure. (although, kohls has zelda PJ pants now...hmmm, i just might wear those)

Can you please use your super powers and give me a revolution now? I'm tired of waiting and seeing. That goes for zelda too.
