Postby RoxaSora64 » 11 Jan 2012 23:18

Well, this has been a long time coming. I've been following this site for a really long time and I still check it multiple times every single day. And if I ever miss a day, I keep going back in the posts until I see something familiar. I don't think I've missed a post since I started visiting this site. Anyway, I'm very much a Nintendo fan. Yes, I do own a PS2 and a PSP but Nintendo has always been there for me. I got my start when I was about 5 and my Aunt let my younger brother and I play Mario Bros. on her NES. It was wonderful.

I soon got an SNES for Christmas. I even have one of the those cheesy videos of me opening it and being extremely excited about it. I played the crap out of Super Mario Bros. We didn't have a lot of games for it, but our cousins also had a SNES and we would borrow each others games all the time. I absolutely loved Kirby Super Star. I remember staying up all night with my cousin playing co-op and we finally beat the game.It wasn't until much later that I learned that the original Kirby Super Star was actually a moderately rare game.

So then one day a few years later my brother and my dad come home with a Nintendo 64. That started a love affair with the RARE (the company) games. It just seemed like if RARE made a game on the N64, I had to have it and I would put as many hours into it as I could. I was very disappointed when RARE moved to Microsoft. My favorites were Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Tooie, which I actually had before I got Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye, and some others. But my all time favorite game on the N64 was Jet Force Gemini. I do have to say that I did enjoy such games as Mario 64, Extreme G 2, Mario Kart 64, Glover, Rayman 2 was amazing, Beetle Adventure Racing, and may others.

So after my glorious N64 era, I had one of the best birthdays ever. On what I think was my 12th birthday, I got a Gamecube that came with Super Smash Brothers Melee, Luigi's Mansion, and Spiderman. Love Smash Bros and love Luigi's Mansion, Spiderman was more of a game for my brother who had started to get away from gaming by then. I feel I have quite an impressive library of Gamecube games. It includes games like Beyond Good and Evil, Billy Hatcher, F-Zero GX (Amazing game and I wish they would finally make another, Miyamoto's wrong about this one), Kirby Air Ride (Couldn't wait for this one), Windwaker, both Metroid Primes, Star Fox Adventures, Mario Sunshine (Which I love, not sure what people are talking about when they say it isn't up to par), Paper Mario 2, basically every Sonic the Hedgehog game released on the Cube (I'm a huge Sonic fan), and XGRA, which was the game that basically defined my interest in music and which is the game that I have played all the way through more than any other game I own. By this time in my life, I was able to make informed decisions about the games I wanted to play, which is why I have so many good games and so few stinkers, talking to you Shadow the Hedgehog.

About the same time I got the Gamecube, I also got a PS2. With it, we got Ratchet and Clank, one of the best franchises on the system and I own all the PS2 games. This was when I really got into rhythm games with Frequency and Amplitude (Spent countless hours and managed to finish it, which is amazingly difficult.), and started my love of Kingdom Hearts. I played Kingdom Hearts till I was level 99 and could beat Ansem without breaking a sweat. I did the same thing, but on a much grander scale when I got Kingdom Hearts 2. My PS2 game library seems to be a lot more diverse than my Cube library, however I have a few more stinkers. But, I also have some gems such as REZ, Final Fantasy X and XII, Okami, Resident Evil 4 (Sadly never picked it up for the Cube, but this version has more content anyway.), Psychonauts, Devil May Cry 3 (Such a hard game), and a few others.

So now to the current gen. I got a Wii shortly after it came out (within a month). To get it, I stayed overnight at Wal-Mart because they were getting a shipment that night (this was when everyone was still sold out of them) but they couldn't sell them until 8am the next morning. I got a friend to go with me and we actually got to hang out with a lady that worked there who had just bout herself a pink DS Lite with Kirby Squeak Squad and we hung out and stayed up all night. With Wii and Twilight Princess in hand, I got home and couldn't care less about sleep. I regret to say that as of now, the disk drive on my Wii hasn't worked for about 8 months now. I called Nintendo and they told me I could send it to them to fix it for $90. I was like "Why would I do that when I could buy a brand new one with accessories and all for $150?" Anyway, I don't the cash for either of those things to happen so it's been a pretty slow year for Nintendo gaming. I've turned a lot to PC gaming this year. But I haven't given up! I'm still a dedicated Nintendo Fan.

I bought myself a 3DS and Ocarina of Time over the summer and love it. I just recently got Mario Kart 7 and am dominating the online play. I did have a DS fat and brought that with me wherever I went, and before that I had a GBA and brought that everywhere.

So here I am now, RoxaSora64, A 21 year old, Graphic Design business owning, art college attending, Nintendo fanboy, which I am not ashamed to say.

Yo everyone!

I am glad to finally be a part of this site! :D I have been going on this website for around a year now (first discovered it around E3 last year, I think lol) and now I finally am officially a member! (I tried a few months ago but for some reason it didn't let me become a member o_O).

Anyhow, I love this site! I basically can't like without it now XD it is like the go-to site every morning for me before I start my day! hehe.

As for my hobbies and interests, used to be in gymnastics, but once I started college, didn't have time for it anymore. I am a huge anime and manga fan as well. My favorite anime: Shaman King and manga: Rave Master.

I am 22 years old and go to Northern Illinois University!

Been a Nintendo fan since probably 3-4 years old when my babysitter got me a NES. It is hard to say what my favorite game(s) are but for Nintendo anyways, it is probably the Pokemon series because it has been the most influential to my life!! :)

It is nice to meet ya'll!!

Re: The Official Introduction Thread

Postby YoshiRider123 » 07 May 2012 22:55

I typically don't post in these kind of threads, but I suppose I will this time.

First and foremost, I understand that I've actually been around these parts for a while; I joined here last summer after avidly reading GoNintendo's news articles for years, but it wasn't until near the end of last year that I began to post more. Due to my increased activity, I feel it to be more worth the time to provide an introduction to myself since I see that more people have taken note of my presence.

My name is YoshiRider123, an alias that I've used for several years online. As of now, I'm 18 years of age and am graduating from high school next month. My current plans for the future involve pursuing a degree in computer science in college and living a humble life in an abode of tranquility. I've no interest in becoming very famous or powerful; it's not a part of my credo.

For almost all of my life, I've played Nintendo games. From the popular to the obscure, I have always had a knack of interest for Nintendo, and I continue to survey how the company endeavors through the video game industry. I visit GoNintendo practically every day because I see it as an excellent resource for Nintendo news. Series by Nintendo that I enjoy include Mario, Pokémon, and Fire Emblem; and as for others, I'll let that be known alternatively. My favorite video game of all time is Mario Paint for the SNES.

As a hobby, I am an amateur instrumentalist who can play piano and cello. I am also an adept multilingual person whose first language was not English. Online, or at least on here, I can often have an argumentative disposition, but in truth, my friends and I see myself as an amiable and benevolent person, so as long as we're not on bad terms, you can count on me for any help or insight on situations if possible.

This introduction of mine sounds fine to me. I hope this read was of interest to any of you folks, but if you've any further questions or would like to chat about whatever, feel free to reach me however you can.

With that said, hello to all. It's a pleasure to be here.

Hello! I just this site last summer so I'm fairly new. Some things about me is that improper grammar is one of my pet peeves. I also love anime and manga. Lately, I've been having an obsession with Hetalia and Vocaloid. I am 6'2" and I'm a Chicago guy! Go freezing cold weather!

Following/Reading GoNintendo since December 2007, and finally, some days ago, I decided to join.
And here I am (a little bit late), HammerGalladeBro, a mexican 20 years old student in Applied Mathematics who loves Nintendo hardware, software, quality and characters (and some outsider (like Sonic, Slime, Hamtaro or Goku) that have been part of Nintendo at least once) besides animes like Dragon Ball or One Piece and cartoons like Adventure Time and Regular Show, and is now trying to enjoy even more his favorite (and pretty much the best) site for Nintendo news.
First Console: SNES
First Game Played: Kirby Super Star
First Console Game Played: Kirby Super Star
First Handheld: Game Boy Pocket
First Handheld Game Played: Kirby's Dream Land 2
Favorite Console: Gamecube
Favorite Handheld: DSi XL (Loving my SMB 25th Anniversary DSi XL, and don't regret my decision of this over a 3DS)

Should have known that there is a welcome committee/thread.

I guess I should also properly introduce myself since I never did. Hello everyone I am @Mirr0rR3flection, who as of posting this is 20 years old and is your resident smiley freak here on this site. ( ) I try to use smileys in creative ways and to differate myself from other here but all that is besides the point. I also had been stalking this for sometime, around 2010 I believe. What ended up causing me to find this site was the lack of Nintendo coverage from sites such as G4tv.com and others. So I took it upon myself to search for Nintendo news and what-do-ya-know, this site popped up. :D So I click it once and have never left it since. GoNintendo is truly the best site for Nintendo news thats for sure. I love Nintendo's franchises, hardware, and quality. I always have and always will. My first console was the SNES which was given to me by my cousin when I was young. It came with a lot of Nintendo's best 1st party and a lot of great 3rd party games as well. From then on I grew to love games. I love games for their great gameplay and will never choose graphics over gameplay which very few gamers these days do. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones! (^¬^)Ъ

Howdy folks, I'm nightwheel.

I've been more of a Gonintendo reader, than I have been a poster. But I finally joined almost a year ago. And I figured today was a good day to finally do an introduction.

So hello folks!

(Also, why are some of my Gonintendo story comments missing?)

Everyone else is doing it, so why not. My name is Kory, and I'm currently a freshman at the University of Delaware majoring in Electrical Engineering. I've been an avid Nintendo freak for as long as I can remember. My first console was an SNES and the first game I remember playing was Super Mario World. My favorite home console is the Nintendo 64, and handheld would have to be the 3DS. I have an obsession with the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I discovered this site around 2008 when I made my first iGoogle page and didn't really pay much attention to it. Then I stated having more free time, so I stated checking the site more and eventually signed up in 2011, but I didn't really start posting until a few months ago. I love this site so much (it's my second most visited site) and I'm so glad to be a part of such an awesome community of like-minded gamers.
Check out The Tails and Sonic Show! It's awesome ^_^

Hi, my name's Jasmine. I'm 19 at the time of posting and I live in Canada. I get really bored at work when I'm on receptionist duty sometimes, so I check GoNintendo a lot. Great site. I'd check it anyway to get all the latest news. The Sega Genesis got me into gaming, and the N64 made me a Nintendo fan for life.

Little late, but better late than never:

My real name is ♥♪!? (see what I did there?). Anyway, I live in Warren, MI, a pretty big city 5 miles north of Detroit. I originally registered just to trade Club Nintendo codes. I planned on never visiting the site again after I traded codes, but something drew me in to stay.

The first game I ever played was Kirby Superstar for the SNES. I remember playing every day while my older siblings were at school (I was 3-4 at the time). My favorite game ever is Super Mario RPG (where my "name" comes from  ). My favorite game series is Donkey Kong Country. And my favorite console is (no surprise) the SNES.
