Hey everybody. Today's question is a bit controversial, but I'd really like to know, have you ever taken an illegal substance? Why am I bringing this up? Probably because on Tuesday I will be able to vote on whether or not marijuana will decriminalized in California and I am excited. Maybe it's just cool knowing that I won't have to worry about buying weed and I may not have to save money to go to Amsterdam. (Prostitution is still illegal... for now.)

Also, just imagine, now California music festivals will be even more bad ass! (We already have the smoke out though.)

I've got no desire to. My friends are all stoners and drink a lot, but I'm the only one out of the whole group that doesn't do any of that. It just doesn't interest me enough to actually get high or drunk (especially getting drunk). I don't have a problem with drugs at all so the fact that my friends do them doesn't bother me. Once I had a talk with them back in the days of middle school/early freshmen year, they understood my choice and have never offered me drugs/alcohol and I respect them for that.

I'm in a pretty similar situation as Mr. Anarchy above me. I have never taken any drugs and I never will. I don't drink either. I know, that's super crazy weird since I'm in college and everything. But really, i don't need to get wasted and act like an idiot and then throw up all over myself just to have fun.

but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't be able to... i'm voting for the prop to legalise marijuana here in CA tomorrow. despite some of the drug-related halloween incidents over the weekend, i hope it passes!

I know what this is! Zidane's a narc! Y'all think: Hey, it's just a an innocent little poll on a Nintendo fansite. Why not say yes? The next thing you know, the po-leece knockin' at yo' door and bring yo' ass in. I'm wise to you, boy! You ain't foolin' nobody!

But srsly, no, I haven't and I don't really intend to. I'm a try-something-at-least-once kind of guy but I'm not a huge fan of smelling like smoke of any kind, needles make me squeemish, pills are hard to swallow, I don't like things going up my nose and I don't even like eating muggle mushrooms. Maybe if drugs came in tastier forms like alcohol does I'd be more open to it. (Well, there are brownies, I suppose.)

I'm fine with other people doing whatever with illegal substances, though. However, I'm not crazy about needle drugs simply because needles can become a health hazard if not properly disposed of. I used to have a job cleaning up city parks and we always had to be careful picking up leaves or litter in case a needle was hidden within.

I get pretty roasted off music and games as it is, but I'd go for a phatty if given the chance, it'd be fun on the bun!

I think the closest I've been to being baked off my skull is from the basement glue and paint fumes that surrounded me and my buddies in our "warhammer 40k is cool" phase.

I drank, semi-regularly, socially, from about 2001-2004. Then I quit, and haven't really touched the stuff since. No desire to.

I "lit up" with my best friend, one time, back in 2000, because he loves the stuff, and really REALLY wanted to get high with me, so I said, okay, for you, this one time, I'll try it. I coughed my ass off, and didn't feel anything. Haven't touched it since.

I have no desire to be drunk or high. I like being sober, and clear-minded. I also really can't stand being around drunks or high people anymore. They're rather annoying, unless you're also inebriated. Plus, to be honest, I hate the smell of weed. It gives me a headache, and actually makes me nauseous in large doses.

I think it should be decriminalized because it's a waste of time and money to lock people up for something so petty. But that's as far as my "support" for marijuana goes. Otherwise, I really can't stand the stuff.

Nope never tried anything illegal. I'd probably try something like weed if it were legal but as it stands I don't really have any intention of going through the worry of getting caught or whatever just to get high. I'm perfectly content with alcohol anyway.

Exactly this. I will never do drugs/ drink... That isn't what I consider fun.

A few times sounds about right. I used to do it more often in high school, but I was scared of getting addicted so I quit for a few years.

Now I only do it very occasionally, at a party, if there's the right kind of mood.
Also, I'm very iffy around hard drugs, I'd never do anything like that.

They are like the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot. If you want to go places, avoid shooting yourself in the foot!

I NEVER will! But if I was old enough to vote and lived in Cali I would vote to legalize it as I agree with Devil_Risings last point/paragraph. Locking people up and wasting jail space because of this is retarted.

Anyway I voted the last option. I was going to vote "high on life" as that was equally as funny.

I may or may not have tried pot a few times. I might have liked it to some extent. I could've thought that it is overhyped and people give pot too much credit because it has less of an effect than benydril or alcohol or caffiene. It might have made me cough a lot (which would be unpleasant) but then soon makes me sleepy. If I tried it at all, it would've only happened 3 times. The first time probably wouldn't have any effect on me at all. The next two would'nt be thought provoking or mind altering, it would just make me sleepy and have awesome dreams.

I've never smoked a cigarette though. Go figure.

Wow, everybody's so straight-laced here on the GN. I've smoked weed three times. Twice nothing happened and once I got super high, but the situation wasn't ideal so I was kinda freaked the whole time and fought the high. Despite less than stellar outcomes, though, I'd be down to try it again, just in a more comfortable scenario.

I promote and applaud this comment. Cigarettes are absolutely foul and disgusting. My grandmother smoked like a chimney for years, til she got lung cancer, which she eventually died from. They probably also gave my mother the lung problems she had. Not to mention, they're just nasty, rotten, and make everything smell like chemical death.

No thanks. If you're going to take up a habit like smoking, you might as well take up a habit like, say, chewing on dried pieces of dog........well you get the idea.
