dude.. this is freaky. you know that feeling when you're alseep, dreaming and despite whatever craziness is happening, you still know it's a dream and you could wake up at any time to escape it?

just this morning i had one of those moments. i got up in the middle of the night to relieve some liquid pressure, and even though i was awake, aware, and watching so i didn't mark the walls and floor as my territory, i still felt asleep; like i was living in some false, subconscious reality. total "matrix" moment, it's happened before, but never so clear.

is life but a dream??

I have those moments really frequently, Cort (well, rarely involving relieving liquid pressure lol). It's a beautiful experience in a way, but it can also be kinda lonely..

Always makes me think of the Cowboy Bebop movie, the hallucinations of all the golden-orange butterflies floating around...

Also, 'Pool of the Week'. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as a result of the poll question, but it really says Pool!

Sometimes I'll sit back and think to myself; "Who am I, and why the hell am I called Dave? WHO'S DAVE MAN!?".

I often wake up after a massive, stonking great dream too and spend the whole morning just trippin' bawls over the sheer lucidity of it all y'know?

i have these all the time. I will just be sitting down and completely zone out and people will think that i have narcolepcy or something. I find it kind of peaceful though because i go into my own world where i don't hear all the commotion around me.

I find myself "displaced with reality" most every Friday and Saturday night.

Most of the time to be honest. I feel like I don't quite fit in with anyone or any social group but then people turn to me and want me to be in their group, which is nice. I have never met anyone like me and probably never will, I pride myself on being stranger than most and if displacing myself from reality is my own doing then I don't care

I'm not sure I have. What exactly do you mean?
I mean, I'm reading the posts but it just seems like most people are talking about feeling "high".
Certainly I often lay awake in my bed at night, just thinking about things. Lots of "what ifs", but I'm not sure I've ever felt disconnected from everything.

It's like having a moment where you know what you're supposed to be doing, or when, but you suddenly realise you've been staring at the ceiling for the past hour and your not sure why! When you spend hours knowing something should be done but never quite bringing yourself to quite get going or focus... getting high is much more fun

Sounds like you're describing being lazy, drunk, stoned or some combination of the three.

I had one of these days on Halloween saturday when i just sat around all day and then when i got dark i was confused how i wasted so much time. Oh college.

I had one of these days on Halloween saturday when i just sat around all day and then when i got dark i was confused how i wasted so much time. Oh college.

Many of my college days were spent playing Final Fantasy 7 & Ocarina of Time til 3-4am in the morning, then waking up early a couple of hours later to go to an 8am class. Not recommended.
