2008 by far wii music is the worst thing ever lol plus they made wii sports resort look crappy and unresponsive 2008 will always be remember as the worst e3 ever but this year we got smb2 nsmbu pikmin 3 zombiu ac3 but if you mean specifically ninty could have kept some games on the downlow so i could be excited the only thing i didn't know about was Nintendo land which i didn't care for or I really don't get what it is like Mario party lol

I guess I'm just a huge Animal Crossing fan or something, but I felt that this year's was worse. Not impressed with the new console, and that's a first for me, so I feel extremely disappointed. Also in 2008 I guess I was still into casual games. Now they just don't interest me at all. They're old news, and no one seems really all that into playing them.

Maybe the 3DS conference will make up for it.

I couldn't possibly compare 2008 with 2012. 2008 had NOTHING I cared for at all. 2012 had Pikmin 3, my longest wanting game ever, and two NSMB games, that I happens to love. So, 2012 is nom comparable with 2008 for moi~

It's a bit dumb to compare a press conference where everyone's hopes were up because of some unfounded rumors, with a press conference that was all about making the ridicule with games that almost everyone didn't care at all.

Both of those statements apply to both conferences, though.

2008. I really don't see 2012 being in the same league.

The 2008 E3 Conference was the worst. The fact that there were little to no games that interested me; that woman, Cammy I think her name was, kept going on and on about sales (granted, she was part of the sales department and whatnot). The whole conference dragged as they showed off Wii Sports Resort and Wii Music (where everyone was all waggling the Wiimote as if they were actually playing an instrument...)

2012 was okay, but it left many disappointed because we all believed the rumors and were extremely hyped for the Wii U, because of said rumors. There were games that appealed to all and the 3DS conference was pretty good, too. So, the 2008 is still their worst.

I went with 2012's because:

+Pre-Olympic Gold medalist Shaun White made an appearance in 2008. That counts for something.
+2012 had not one, BUT TWO underwhelming press conferences.
+E3 2012 was the moment that the Wii U needed to prove itself to the large audience which it relatively failed at. At least by E3 2008, only the slated software failed to make a nice impression, not the whole ecosystem.
+At least we can laugh at 2008 because it was so ridiculous and circus-like and over-the-top bad. 2012 will be remembered just as a big, missed opportunity. In movie terms, 2008 will be the horrible, campy, SyFy Saturday movie while 2012 is one, giant, blockbuster movie that bombs.

There is no denying that e3 2012 weighs heavily on wii u's performence. It's the not the fact that it was bad, it was the fact i was waiting a year for nintendo's response to the C O C K sucking analysts. It seemed hard to imagine that after poor 3ds sales and a year of nintendo being completely silent, it seemed they were about to completely unleash wii u, but despite all my faith in nintendo that this e3 was gonna knock the idiots flat it didn't. In fact it made me disapointed with the wii u, i was expecting loads of 1st party trailers as we saw last e3 and more information about nintendo network and the big potential for infromation of a app store, that hasn't happened. Nintendo''s attitude really surprises me, after all the interviews with iwata you'd think something big was aproaching but nothing from this e3 tells me that, i learned absolutely nothing from this e3l what was shown could of been anounced in 10 minute video. Infact nintendo seems really confident on th wii u but what annoys me is they can't seem to grasp the face of reality, sure there will be some families having a bit of fun with wii u , but most will probably not give a damm, i see a audience that perfectly fits the wii u but nintendo simply doesn't reach for that market, they are destroying thier main market for a market that doesn't give a damm.

though what i have said sounds very negative i am hoping wii u will suceed and show people why they should buy it. :(

I personally think Pikmin 3 is a better game then Animal Crossing, but the big issue is that Nintendo have a new console to sell in 2012 and everything to prove. So what was the worse press conference?

E3 2008. Hands Down!
While this year's coneference was a disappointment, it wasn't near as horrible as 2008. Whoever thinks this year was worse than 2008, believed so much in the ridiculous amount of rumors prior to E3.
Plus, this year's E3 was an instant win with the confirmation of 2 Wii U GamePads and Project P-100 (Nintendo + Platinum Games).

Also, they thought wii music was the best game ever.

There is no "debate". This isn't even a question. The 2008 conference was abysmal. The worst they've ever had. Their conferences have been strong before and since.

The 2012 conference wasn't bad. By ANY stretch. Some of you folks are just emotionally distraught to some incredible sort of extreme, simply because they didn't show off Star Fox or Zelda (or Smash Bros., which is physically impossible a this point in time).

-Cammie was there... She was so bad, that no one even cared about any celebrities that came on stage.
-Gee, I wonder what's worse: having ports that can be at least enjoyable or being stuck with wii music... You underestimate the mediocrity of wii music.
-... There's nothing funny about having to be stuck with wii music... Why would you think that? ... Why would anyone think that?

I'd say 2008 was worser. In 2008, we didn't get that many games that people wanted, but at least in 2012 we got Mario, ZombiU, Pikmin, a bunch of 3rd party games, etc, and just about everyone has at least one title that they're gonna get at launch because of that, which shows that they have something for everyone and that they improved in terms of showing games that people actually want. And even though Scott may have been a little nervous during the E3 and 3DS presentations, better him than Cammie! Lol. She was the epitome of the casual, and then some. He even took her spot as the marketing person for Nintendo. 8)
