The Metroid Prime series was largely successful, with all three games selling over a million copies. Whatever they're working on next, it might not be "huge", as in Kid Icarus, or another major Nintendo franchise. But it very well might be a potentially huge new IP, that could in fact turn into a new successful franchise for Nintendo going forward. You never know.
But they did such an amazing job with the Prime series, I am willing to trust that whatever they're making, it's likely going to at the very least be really good.

Really all I can think of Retro offering to this franchise is a First Person Coconut shooter. I'm sure they could make a good original IP or Starfox. I just don't see a Retro developed DK game to be worthwhile.
