More good news from Capcom

These little handhelds will not die...and we don't want it to! GBA, GBASP, GBMicro... anything NOT DS-related belongs in here!

More good news from Capcom

Postby norman.conquest » 15 May 2006 15:48

I know this isn’t much compared to all the big E3 news to which we’ve become accustomed over the past week, but Capcom is releasing a value-priced classics cart for the GBA featuring Bionic Commando! As BC is my favorite game ever, I am ecstatic.

I gotta give props to jkam at CAG for brining this to my attention.

I've noticed several companies realesing "classic complelations" of their old titles. This does not bode well for teh virtual console. Why buy the old games (yet again) when you just baught them for the GBA, Game Cube, XBox, PS2, PSP,...?

Thats not stopping nintendo nor sega from putting their games in the virtual console, when they already have the nes classic series and sonic mega collection.

because most people have bothered not to buy dumbed down classics on handhelds and have waited for quite a while like myself for something like the virtual console :p aside from that, there are sega and trbogrfx 16 games and i've never played those :p

I'm diggin' this news. Bionic Commando was a favorite of mine on the NES and I enjoyed Strider also.

Yeah, I do think it does take away a little from the VC by having some of these games out on other systems, but by that account, we could already play any of the VC games and more via emulation on our PCs. That said, there are still tons of games that haven't been available on any subsequent system since their initial release. (Super Mario RPG is one I'm counting on.) Also, one of Nintendo's main targets, former gamers, are probably unlikely to own a GBA or know the first thing about roms. So I don't really think it affects the overall impact of the VC.
