How are YOU doing?

Tired of talking about video games? In here you can talk up ANYTHING else going on in the world or beyond...

How are YOU doing?

Postby Nicky Hill » 30 Oct 2005 01:02

Okay, I mentioned it during the podcast, so here it is. I really want to know how everyone is doing these days. What have you been busy working on? How are the friends? How is the family? What games are you playing? What was the last movie you saw? What games have you been waiting to play, movies have you been waiting to see, events that you want to go to? What things get on your nerves? What things do ya'll like?

Anything goes, everyone. We here at GoNintendo, just want to know how YOU are doing.

 You guys do love us.

Family, honeslty isn't my strong suit. My brother just went to huntsville State Penetentiary, but that's a long story.

Last Movie I saw was, god I htink it was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Absolutely the best movie of the year for me and gave me a childlike glee I haven't felt from a movie during my adult life. I really want to see a History of Violence, but it hasn't exactly been easy to find nearby my small home town.

Soul Calibur 3 makes me a very sad panda. I will admit i am not the best at fighting games, but I have always been decent enough at Soul Calibur so that it was fun for me. The AI gets so cheap at points in this one though that I have to stop for fear of my poor dual shocks safety.

Shadow of Colossus on the other hand. Absolutely wow. All year RE4 has been my top game but this is really really pushing it for the title. It is so beyond everything I expect from a game that I can't really explain it. It is truly art, and is something everyone should play.

I just read the book "Perfect Circle" by Sean Stewart. Was a nice book about dealing with ones demons, and it was told in a very creative way.

Go Packers. Can I be frank for a moment? God Dammit!!!!! Why does this have to happen to my team. There is at least one more "out for the season injury" every week and it absolutely makes me sick. The constant bitch slapping they seem to be receiving every week is going to drive Favre to retire and that is going to break my heart because football wouldn't be football anymore for me without Brett Favre.

People know what White Castle is because of that awful Harold and kumar movie.

Dragon Quest 8 Nov 15th, followed a week later by Mario Kart. Bang my ass and call me betty, november is going to be a great month for gaming.

I'll give some others a chance to talk now.

I'm trying to figure out how to spend my time wisely.

I'm currently playing Shadow of the Colossus, and Hohez has it right. This game is breathtaking. Absolutely incredible.

World of Warcraft is threatening to suck me back in again. I just can't seem to keep away for very long.

Also trying to find time to play Fire Pro Wrestling R. If you are a wrestling game fan, and are sick of crap WWE games, look up Fire Pro R. Best wrestling game ever.

On top of this I have a book I'm trying to read through, and a bunch of comics.

It's becoming hard to fit all this into my day.

Back to the future Part 2

The next movie I'll probably see is

hahah so u want my life....well family is ok...parents got on my nerves but we just have little "talks" and eveything gets better....i gotta shut my mouth so i don't loose the videogame privillage i have....my mom thinks playing games for 2hours a day is too much....well she can.........................!!!!hahah

ok games i am playing....
well i just got Half Life 2 on the PC....awsome game i love it....we inivative and creative...then i am also still playing my Guild Wars account which i have spent like 220 hours on it in 3 months......and then on my GCN i am still playing Havest Moon....that game is really fun in big dosses....

games i want to come out
Zelda....
COD2 finnaly got here i am gonna try that one.
The Next Guild wars is comming next year around my BD
umm i really want to see all the Next Gen systems and what the have to offer.

Movies i just saw...
hahah jackass that movie i have seen so many times but it is always so funny. The fog.....it was ok, Cry Wolf was just kind odd to me at points not really scarry.

Movies i want to see
Right now i would only rent things....al the movies that are comming out are just remakes that we know what is gonna happen in them or that they are all the same "type" of movie. Like these scarry moveis sort of all have the same point....kids go place, that place is scarry, bad guys kills a few, u see the hero, he resuces the girl, then kills the bad guy....its just stupid!!

My Friends are awsome.
Expecially my band....we are getting places to play...i really hope this is gonna be my job in life...kuss i don't want to do anything else....people at sschool are annoying....i have some friends but they aren't really "real"

Things that annoy me
this world.the video game industry thta we all can't just get along with each other and just play all the sytems.....and y can't the developers not just make things for money.....how bout they make it for making a game....plz just once....the only system i have really seen that in is nintendo.

What i have been working on.
music. songs. gay homework that isn't gonna get me anywhere. i don't know random crap...i work on a lot of things in my life

so bassically that is my life right now in one big gulp...yeah sry its so long......kinda went really far.!

I have a four-day weekend, but my brother's girlfriend is visiting. :?

And I started a new village in Animal Crossing last night. With a character named Tim living in a town called Schaigha.

I'm doing good in school, except I'm having a little trouble in Spanish 2.

Oh, and I have to pull weeds. I really need some money......

Doing well overall, but stressed out a bit at work. However, it wouldn't be work if it was fun. Friends and family are all okay. My wife is mad because she couldn't find a working DS demo station at Gamestop to do the Hailey Duff bark mode thing, but that is a pretty minor problem. :D

Currently playing Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance which is absolutely excellent. On the DS I'm giving Nintendogs another try and also playing Metroid Pinball a bit. On the GBA I'm currently playing Breath of Fire II a few minutes here and there.

Recently watched the Wallace and Grommit movie which was pretty cool. Nothing else I'm looking forward to, but I'm sure I will be a geek and buy Episode III on DVD like everyone else this Tuesday.

Thats all I can think to about right now, but I really like this idea for a topic.

things are well in the land of jezter.

my car is clean; i'm clean. well-rested from two recent vacations, two-weeks apiece. in good shape thanks to my daily workout regimen. family is in proper order. met a great gal a few weeks ago and things are fantastic. found out today scott stapp has a new album coming out in a few weeks, which i was a huge creed fan while they were together. star wars comes out tomorrow. anticipating the DS/mario kart bundle.. i think i'm going to take the plunge into my first portable system.. finally after all these years :) otherwise, just slowly digging into all these gamecube games i've collected over the past couple years--some i've started but not finished; others are still shrink wrapped after 2 years!

that's my current world in a nutshell :)

Even though I'm a total newbie, I thought I'd post here anyways...

My family is uh, pretty good, but I've been living away from home for quite awhile. My dad lost two of his fingers in a woodworking accident this week - which is strange beacause he's a master Carpenter by trade, but then again he is getting older and older...so hopefully everything with that will work out well. He should be getting theraphy within the next two weeks, once the healing is finished.

I've been playing my Xbox 360, which while it's great and fun, I'm really looking forward to more games with online play. So far playing Call of Duty 2 and Perfect Dark Zero and they're loads of fun. I've also played Wanda and the Colossus (title over here) and it's fantastic. I'm REALLY looking forward to the new Samurai Spirits game however, as well as the new Onimusha game coming out next week!

The last good movie I watched last night was a Chinese film called "Hei She Hui" or "Election" in English starring Andy Lau, a famous Hong Kong actor. It's all about the Chinese triads and it's a great film. Also, Chen Kai Ge's "The Promise" is a new film out here which is excellent as well, with better production values than we are used to in China.

Other than that, I have a month break for the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) until February 14, so I have a TON of time to do whatever I want! After that, it's back to work for the daily grind...

Im doing pretty good. I am starting to be very busy with College and Work on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. I have no college on Tuesday and Thursday. But I still have work at 2. But since I wake up at 6:40 or 7 on the other days. I sleep in till 10. So I have 11 to 12 to work out. then I have just 45 mins. to myself untill I have to head to work.
I havent gotten time to play Animal Crossing either, so the people are starting to forget my name.So I better start playing again on the weekends. But look at the bright side! im make a lot of money! MUHAHAHA! :P
Im probably going to start waking up at 8 on Tuesday and Wednesdays now.

So in summary.. Im doing fine.. lol.

Ah, that suxs! Well, I'm kind've lonely right now. A lot of my friends were grounded 'cause of bad grades ( I managed to keep straight A's ;)) so I can't really talk to anyone on the internet for around two weeks. Let's see...
Most of the time at school, I'm in an argument with one of my M$ fanboys about the next-generation war, and it seems after every argument, I become more biased towards Nintendo... Of course, I always get my revenge with a little stacking here and there ;). Well, that's about it for me I guess. Hope you all have A Wonderful Life!

Me? How kind of you to ask.

I'm continuing my Biology major at UNC-CH, and i'll tell you what, genetics is the most mind numbing thing i've experienced. Worse than Economics. Otherwise, I'm enjoying my DS, and a handful of other non-video games; Killer Bunnies, Legend of the Five Rings, and being the DM for D&D.

Funny story: For Chirstmas, my Dad ordered a bunch of stuff off of Amazon and used the SuperSaver shipping, which ships all the items at once to save money. Amazon official is awful now because they buy the items from 3rd parties (Target, best buy, etc...) and ships them off at thier prices, which delays the progress of the item. Well... my 7 items were not going to be shipped until the beginning of February for some reason. Today, it just came to my house, so I get to have a second Chistmas. Included is FFIV, Serenity, The Watchmen graphic novel, and a hot dog toaster. wOOt!

But I'm doing good.

I'm decent... been killing time on the forums for the past 2 hours while waiting for work to be over... (one more hour!!!!)

playing the hell out of Mario & Luigi Partners in time ATM and working on various package design projects for a few bands.

Trying to find time to focus on my music... but working full time (and then more when I get home) makes it difficult.

Oh geez, I feel your pain buddy. Algebra is not one of my strong points. I BARELY passed it in college.. and that was only because my professor was a complete pushover. That is, of course, after failing it once and taking it a second time. :P

And I'm terribly tired. I went to a concert last night, and stayed up a bit late, and now I have to commute 2 hours to school and give a speech in my Speech class that I'm not even totally finished with. So not ready for that.

XD I miss math... A little bit.
@ DiabolicScheme: Good luck with your speech! Spending two hours getting to school seems like a drag ô_O;.

I'm doing pretty good, but am frustrated because I think I'll never pass my French classes. I feel my French must be so much worse than every one elses because I wasted four years on an art school *sigh*.
Why couldn't I choose an easier language to study! Such as nice, sweet & simple Dutch. Aww... *cry* XD

I'm stressing a bit, but I really love university. It's so interesting!
