Mistwalker x Nintendo = The Last Story

I find myself getting anxious about The Last Story news lately. Mostly because I know it's coming out in Japan soon and there is absolutely no western news. I stayed unrealistically optomistic about a US release for Another Code R, Fatal Frame, New Play Control Chibi-Robo and Xenoblade, so at this point I'm just assuming that that we won't being seeing any games from Nintendo beyond Zelda. That way I won't be as let down.
Back on topic I would really like to play The Last Story. It looks so great. Everything about it looks like it has such high quality. I have watched the trailers from the Japanese site so much, I should probably stop doing that.
Who else is looking forward to this lovely title?

Hopefully we'll get word on whether The Last Story will be localized on Dec 27th. By the way, does anybody know when that starts? I know RMC said 14:00, but which timezone does that refer to? Japan's? Greenwich Mean Time?

I'm still calling that both Last Story and Xenoblade come out to the US. Nintendo knows that Wii needs more good rpgs, and that was something Iwata wanted as a priority anyway, which is precisely why both games were made.

Sakaguchi's holding an event in Japan about the last story on December 27th. There's going to be a live stream of him talking about the story, battle system and gameplay. I'm assuming we'll also get to see some actual gameplay and I'm hoping (but doubtful) that the NA/EU release dates will be announced.

The game looks amazing. The world/character design, the combat, the music... They all are fantastic, judging from the presentation anyway. I'm more hyped about this game than ever. The only thing that could make me more excited about this game at this point is a release date for the US/EU.

This game is definitely on my radar. I watched the presentation & could tell how much effort + care was put into its creation. I wish more developers did that... It goes to show that if developers actually try to make a good game on the Wii then it can happen. I'm just waiting for a North American release date so, I can plan my budget accordingly.

It's only just come out in Japan. I'd give it a couple of years before giving up completely. It's generally not too unusual for well received, but relatively obscure, Japanese games to head west a couple of years later after original release.

Anyway, I hope this does get localised. This, Catherine and Ni no Kuni are the three JRPGs I really give a shovel about at the moment. None of them have had anything announced localisation-wise yet. But look at what happened with Demon's Souls. Most people had written an EU release of that off and all of a sudden it just happened. Just a few years down the line.

Catherine might be a long shot though...

Yup. Literally just came out in Japan. It has something like 12,000 lines of dialogue throughout the entire game. That will take a good chunk of time to translate and localize. It WILL come out in the U.S. But probably not till late summer, at the earliest, SIMPLY based on the amount of time and effort it's going to take to get it translated.

Wouldn't NoA (or other territories) let us at least know they were working on it, if indeed they were? The lack of any mention of it has me worried. I kept waiting for Another Code R thinking "they got to announce it next month, there is no way they are going to not release it" and nothing ever happened. I thought the same thing about NPC Chibi Robo, Disaster, Fatal Frame 4, Takt of Magic, Zangeki no Reginleiv, Xenoblade, and now Last Story.

I'm with you. Those three and Xenoblade are JRPGs I really need to play (though I wouldn't consider Catherine a JRPG).

Xenoblade, I think, will also still come out here too.

But the one thing this game has over all those others you just listed? It's much higher profile. Like I've kept on saying, this guy created Final Fantasy. Gamers know about this game. It's a big deal. They're not going to keep it in Japan.

the last story wont be coming to europe any time soon, give nintendo of europe a break, theyre going through the gruelling tough task of translating kirbys epic yarn, a game that has so much dialogue and voice acting, i mean they were working so hard on it that they didnt even have time to give the 3ds a solid price.

Anyway this game's coming out in February in Europe and will probably get announced for North America later on, I wonder when we're gonna get a trailer for this game, I mean its released date is in less than 2 months and we haven't had a single trailer for it (the Japanese trailer with the voices edited out and a PEGI 16 at the beginning doesn't count)

I'm in NA and I really want this game. Got Xenoblade reserved and pray we get Last Story. As for Pandora's Tower, I can see it hitting NA in 2013 being one of the last Wii games or being ported to Wii U.

TBH the only game I was interested in is The Last Story. However, like Tales of Graces, my interest with it waned over time.

Xenoblade has been confirmed for NA this year. I have no doubt in my mind, with them already doing an English translation for EU, and with the title already having been registered for NA, that we will see The Last Story as well.

30-ish hours, apparently. So nowhere near as long as Xenoblade.

Cheers man. That's cool, pretty much perfect actually. Probably get Xenoblade next, but not sure I'd have time afterwards for anything too long. Doubt I'll have much time to play much over late spring and summer this year.

most sound pretty good, no over the top cockney accents like in xenoblade chronicles (Rein), Syrenne sounds half Brummie half Cockney, Therius sounds a bit crap and I already love COUNT ARGANAN (capitals cos I had to copy and paste it from the website).
