The Wii and 3DS the new wonder twins of 2012 ???

Postby 3dimension » 08 Feb 2011 21:45

I read on the post here from some of you about now that the next gen 3ds is coming out when will the wii successor come out ???

Heres a guess about THE NEXT WII!!!!! lol "dramatic"

if 3ds is a hit it may well carry slow wii sales, if this does happen nintendo could stretch the original wii till 2012! or even a bit longer!!!

This could be a good and bad thing.
In one hand most big budget 3rd parties wont support the wii. "surprised"!?!
In the other hand even without a big budget put into the wii from large budgets 3rd parties this could open the door for more independent game makers, the wii could be come a more of a experimental game console which could lead into new areas of game play making.

There could be one more option, the wii and the 3ds could combine themselves like the wonder twins!!!

"Wonder twins power activate"
" form of a wii, shape of the 3ds. combined! " lol!!!

on one interview with Miyamoto he said he wants to sell ths wii for $100.00 so eveyone could have a wii.

Well that hasn't happen yet and it looks like we are far away from that happening soon.
Nintendo themselves keep saying they are not done with the wii and they have still many things to do with the wii before they go on to the next console.

Will the wii over stay its welcome?
or
Is there still more life in the wii and it has yet to shown why it was code named "THE REVOLUTION" in the first place?

just a guess.... i say around christmas 2012 we will see the next nintendo console.. but, if we see anything about it during E3, it might see an early 2012 release or even a late 2011.. but i really doubt we'll see it this year.. christmas sales on the 3DS is more than likely gonna be great during the holidays.. so i doubt they are gonna want to take that thunder away by having a new console... though, who knows.. they might drag it out for the remainder of this generation.

I think there could be a new "Wii" as early as late this year. There is just not that much on the horizon.

The 3DS is something different. Traditionally, the handheld has had the power of consoles that are two generations behind. (The power is roughly equal in gameboy=nes, GBA=SNES, DS=N64) So this marks the first time that nintendo has made a handheld that rivals it's own current console.

I think we're going to see the 3DS handle itself more like a console and less like a handheld. I think the 3DS has the capacity to keep a Wii successor at bay until 2013.

We won't see another Nintendo system for another 3 more years Nintendo's focus will be on 3DS but they will not forgot the Wii of course cause were getting a new Kirby, Pokemon, Rhythm Heaven, and that Pandora's Tower game.
"whos more foolish the fool or the fool who follows the fool"? - Obi Wan Kenobi Star Wars A New Hope. oh btw i won't be giving out my friend codes cause I'm to lazy to see what they are and i never play people online. :)

You have to remember that Kirby, Rhythm Heaven, and Pandora's Tower are all coming out this year in Japan.

In response to the OP, I had already pretty much seen this happening anyway.

There is just simply no way they are going to release TWO new consoles in one year. 2011 is the year of the 3DS for them. And I still don't see Wii's home console successor coming out til at LEAST holiday season 2012, if not even sometime in 2013.

There are far too many awesome games Nintendo themselves, let alone 3rd parties, could still do on Wii, they have still not fully utilized what the Wii is capable of, in terms of graphics or using the Wiimote/Motion+ controls. I still would very much, in addition to the next Zelda and (DAMMIT) Pikmin 3 (as well as that new Kirby we all saw, IF it's for real), like to see a Star Fox Wii (with an actual SF64 style, NOT Assault), an F-Zero game, maybe a WaveRace, etc.

The Wii has plenty of life left in it, it's be a shame to move on from it too soon (ala Saturn-Dreamcast).
