Whenever I'm interested in something I usually check all the reviews of the product I can. This includes both professional and amateur. However, there are times when I follow something and can't be bothered with reviews, as long as it's the newest installment in the series I need it.

I know I'm not alone.

I am with you too zidane! I have to make sure what i am buying is going to be worth my money so I am constantly checking reviews on multiple websites and consumer reports just to make sure I am not going to get ripped off. I find though that a lot of the consumer reports always have mixed results and you can't trust them as much. Ha you get a ton of trolls on some products that you just have to ignore.

I generally look up the product on metacritic before purchasing. Usually with videogames I'll read the IGN review as well.

All the damn time, I want to get the best bang for my buck after all. Especially with electronics, features and prices are very disparate between all sorts of crap these days!

Usually this, I don't spend too much time looking at review after review unless it is a big purchase, i.e. a laptop, HDTV, etc. For cheaper things like video games I might look at a review or two, but that's it.

You bet I do my research beforehand! When I'm purchasing a product, I always read reviews for it first because I want to make sure I get a quality product and not get ripped off. Usually, user reviews are very helpful and some of them go into very great detail about the product in question. It's saved me from wasting my hard earned money on products that aren't very worth it.

Yeah for pretty much everything. Anybody else notice that negative reviews always stick in your mind much more though? Even if it's only one amongst a tonne of positive?
