And just as an aside, all those games on Wii, including Conduit, sold at least over 400k copies. MadWorld and HOTD actually sold over 500k, which I'd call pretty good. Conduit seems to have topped out at 460k, which isn't bad, by any means. But certainly not the numbers I'm sure they were hoping it would do.

However, on the flip side of that, if you look at it not from the "MAN, that game sure didn't do Halo numbers, what a flop" point of view, but rather from the "Man, those are decent sales for a companies first foray into a big time original IP, not to mention FPS". From that point of view, they actually made out alright. Hopefully, Conduit 2 sells better, because Sega pushes it harder, and it hopefully (with all their improvements/additions) gets better reviews, which I think partly hurt the first game's sales.

So I'm assuming the drought of new info for this game is due to HVS's employees being out on break?

And just to stimulate some random discussion...has there been any word on any type of Human bolt-action sniper rifle making it into the game? I haven't seen any so far, but I'd really like to see at least one make it into the final game. The sniper rifle category in TC felt really weak to me since all the weapons in TC that had a scope were semi-automatic, and seldom actually needed the scope to be used well. Considering HVS teased at different class types in C2, I think a Human bolt-action sniper rifle would be essential so that players wanting some sniping fun could create a classic sniping class.

Oh God. I would LOVE that. I'm a huge fan of sniping, especially bolt-action snipers. Although I've never really found a FPS on Wii that has handled sniping well, but I haven't played any Wii version of CoD.

Does Goldeneye have sniping? Or is it more of an "arcadey" game?

What is it about Wii FPSs that you've played that hold the sniping back?

i liked the 1st one, even though it was clearly lacking in a few departments... but it had potential. GoldenEye & COD Black Ops have been impressive and raised the bar on what a Wii FPS can do IMO (not to omit Metroid Prime 3) so i have relatively high hopes for this.

the lack of recent news, hyperbole, etc. is odd though...

I dunno, it just doesnt feel right to me. You have to be really steady, and the IR controls just dont really allow you to be as steady as you need. And then there are the games that make you use the analog stick for aiming when sniping, but that just feels awkward too. Thats just my opinion though, Im sure many people do just fine sniping on Wii.

Huh. The game releases (in the States, anyhow) in less than a month. We have seen VERY little of this game at all. We haven't seen the perks in action, nor have we had a good look at the Atlantis hub. Hell, we've barely seen any multiplayer at all! We haven't seen much new footage since the IGN preview (that recently released teaser doesn't count, since it's obviously made up of old footage). There's not a lot of time left, and SEGA seems to not be pushing this game very much. I can't help but feel a bit concerned.

Ooh, nice, you're one very lucky duckling, then. My birthday's actually in super-early March, though, so I think my pre-order of C2 and a PDP Headbanger Headset purchase will stop me from getting any birthday gifts this year. :(

Apparently, Destructoid's going to have a pre-release playthrough of C2 featuring Eric Nofsinger and Matt Corso answering questions. The direct-footage comes in exactly one week.

Darn you, HVS...The game's gotten another delay, and now it'll be coming out on April 19th in NA. With all the delays (third one so far), this game better turn out good. It's probably the only one I'm getting in Q2.

The game is looking fantastic! But once again the environments, while they look more inspired in Conduit 2, they look pretty crappy. Especially compared to the great looking character models. But I love how feature-rich this game is turning out to be.

Good god i want this game. Played the first one, and maybe i was the only one, but i LOVED the online....until the hackers came....then the bugs, and spawn glitch...yadayada

But this one looks like fun. Atleast the April pushback will give them more time for testing.

the games out on the 19th in america and the 22nd in europe. but if they want a game thats so low profile at the moment like this to succeed they need to start putting out adverts at least a week before release. ps3/360 games sometimes get their ads months before release, just telling people to pre order, why do i never see that with any wii games?

just once, id like to hear from a developer "yes the wii game we made most likely failed due to the lack of marketting and publicising" rather than blame the user base and say the wii is just a casual console

You mean the new one? It's basically Call of Duty, with Bond in it. Yes, it has sniping. For that matter, the ORIGINAL (see better) Goldeneye on N64, had a good deal of sniping, one of the first FP games to do so in fact, to my knowledge.
