Having an area in a game that you can mess up so you can no longer progress is a result of terrible game design. With that said, there is NO way you can mess the Water Temple up to the point where you can no longer progress in the game. That's a silly rumor created by people who probably aren't very good at the game.
Also, contrary to popular belief, I don't think the puzzles in Master Quest are harder. In fact, their are LESS puzzles, and most of them are just "find the disguised switch." The Water Temple is especially easier in MQ.
I'm glad to hear that it's a remake instead of a graphically enhanced straight-port. I'm hoping for at LEAST Majora's Mask style of draw-distance and onscreen enemies on the main field. After that, maybe mix it up a little bit, make some of the more 'awkward' areas more interesting, less floating platforms and more 'environments that make sense' in their place if possible, that sort of thing. I realize there might be some nostalgia that gets messed with if they remix it too much, but hey, you've got at least four other ways to obtain an 'original' version(cartridge, GCN disc 1, GCN disc 2, VC) so I wouldn't want to hold them back from a cool idea just to stay faithful to something that's already been faithful for so long.
It's fantasy. It's Zelda. Environments need to be believable to a certain extent, but they obviously aren't supposed to be bound by the rules of the real world.
