Lack of new WiFi games

Postby t27duck » 28 Jun 2006 19:09

Someone enlighten me.

Why aren't we seeing more DS WiFi games? Unlike the Game Cube, Nintendo is providing the servers. Yet, I see very few 3rd party devs using it. It looks like it's mainly first party titles getting the online treatment.

One would think that since 360 Uno is so popular online, the DS Version would be online too.

right now there are six, and nintendo said that there are a lot more being worked on. I forget how many they said, but it was a lot. It just takes time.
Call me at 1-800-bull@#$% when Sony knows how to make a system.

Me not happy either at the total lack of many games using wifi feature.

I mean i had the gamecube modem, only had phantasy star to use it, what a waste of money for the use of one game.
The best idea wins

I do agree the lack of WiFi games (especially from their first party) is not a good move from Nintendo. There're quite alot of titles were the local multiplayer modes could fit right in the WiFi setting. With the WiFi infrastructure and capabilities they got now it's very easy to implement it in games.

It's quite pathetic we only got 4 games (in europe) that support it at this time now that they finally got a centralized network for it that seems pretty robost and stable.

I can't find a reason besides that at this time their servers arn't ready yet for a bigger load?

And continuing about their online system, I'd really want to know what genius at Nintendo came up with the friends list as how it's implemented now. Instead of just linking an account to your WiFi ID... so you'd just have to add a friend by his name into a global list for all games and that he would just have to accept you invitation. What were they thinking?

Oh well I cross my fingers for what they'll do with the Wii online system and wait what future brings for the the lack of DS games that support (decent) online gaming.

Honestly? Being a Nintendo fan and owning only Nintendo since I was a child, I happen to only see the Wifi as a plus. An extra.

I'm used to not having online play, so the lack of Wifi games doesn't really get to me...althoug I spend hours playing Mario Kart and Metroid Prime: Hunters.

I agree. Online isn't necessary in a game for me, but it is always fun, and there are tons more coming out soon on the DS
How many controllers have you broken?
