Just thought it'd be interesting to find out what you guys think about these two games so far. :)
This reminds me of a puzzle.

DoA looks gorgeous. I dig the visual style sooo much more. Plays well too. I'm not into fighters enough to catch all the subtle nuances and techniques though, so maybe not the best person to ask if you're super hardcore. Between the two though I'd pick DoA.

Although partly because I already have SSF4 on another system.

Dead or Alive 2 on Dreamcast was what my friend and I played for hours sometimes. So the series has a lot more nostalgia for me than Street Fighter does, and I'm hoping this one will at least be as good as DOA2. I could easily play SF2 and get roughly the same experience any day, so I'd rather have DOA myself.

I agree, when you see them both side by side, DoA looks ten times better.

I'm much more intrigued by DoA because not only is it an entirely new title, but also because it looks to make the 3D effect far more immersive than the way it was used in SSFIV. Not to say the latter is bad, though; you can't go wrong with either.

Also, Ridley stage.

If you are not a great arcade fighter, Street Fighter would be the better choice. I have always been horrible at those games, but getting to map combos to the touch screen makes things so much more enjoyable to me. I can now say I enjoy Street Fighter. Something I couldn't say prior to this game.

That said, DOA does look cool with it's environments. I wish I could play a demo to see if I'd like it.

Just watched IGN's video review of DoA: Dimensions. Got a solid 8.0 from them. So it seems to work just fine, and the game would be a great initial showcase for the system's visuals. So on the basis I already have a version of SSF4, DoA would be my choice of 3DS fighter.

Plus I just vastly prefer the character designs and art style of the DoA series.

i own both games, and i personally love DoA way more. The combos are better, gameplay is faster, graphics are more impressive, and the environments are far better. SSF seemed very plain to me compared to DoA

I agree 100%. Street Fighter is the kind of game where if you lose, you know exactly why, and you want to try again. With DOA, you're like, "Why in heaven's name did I lose to that guy?"

SF > Everything ever forever.
I can't stop thinking about control schemes!

Street Fighter will probably always be my favorite fighting game. The 3DS one is awesome, it seems almost like an upgraded remake of SF2. I didn't really like any of the new fighters. I just got DOA (it's the first one in that series I've played) And it's really fun. It seems pretty simple though but i have a pretty hard time blocking (I generally prefer to hold back to block instead of having it on a button). It would be nice to be able to jump. The online on Street Fighter seems way better I never had any problem fighting somebody but 90% of the time on DOA I get an entry rejected message. The graphics on DOA are way better than SFIV. I'm Pretty disappointed in the arcade mode on DOA, since there are no endings it seems pretty pointless beating it with everybody. The chronicle mode was great but I wish you could have used more of a variety of different fighters. It was a little odd how some of the scenes were just still models while others were fully animated, but it wasn't as annoying as the still backgrounds on SSFIV. The download new suits for DOA are pretty cool. Also, I love the multi level stages on DOA, some of them are like 4 stages in one, the only thing I don't like about them is if you're going for time it's almost unavoidable knocking opponents down and it takes a little time for them to fall all the way down.
So, I'd say the stages and graphics are quite a bit better on DOA, but Street Fighter is overall better.

After hearing about DoA and after playing and reselling SSF4 3D I have to say that DoA seems better. It certainly seems far more accessible for someone new to fighting games or someone that simply isn't very good. I don't care what reviews say but SSF4 is not accessible at all. That is and was a bold face lie as far as I'm concerned.
