X Play and G4 Bias

What is up with X Play. Adam gushs about how great the vita is, says the 3DS sucks, and Morgan... well you know what she thinks about Nintendo. Why does everything they say about Nintendo an insult or a left-handed compliment? Atleast Attack of the Show is not like that.

G4 is a damn joke anymore, I wouldn't trust anything they say. I guess Nintendo is the only company that doesn't pay them off. The only show I will even watch on there is Ninja Warrior.

I've noticed this too, but I never watch G4 anymore so it doesn't really matter to me. I used to watch them for E3 but it is easier to watch it online...

I know what you guys mean, I used to get angry when I watched G4. When DirecTV took them off, it didn't bother me anymore. Not just that, but that's what video game journalism really is. It's not as structured. They take any news that they can get, and it's mostly to sell stuff. That's why you see a lot of fun articles on the internet when it comes to a lot of video games. Most news just informs you what games are coming out, and a lot of their traffic comes from people wanting new news and that's why people play nice. There aren't a lot of hard hitting articles about gaming. There is rarely any articles that go deep into the industry. (Although gamepolitics.com is a great site. A really smart site that really gives you the news.)

Anyway, I'm not surprised that G4 has a bias, they get paid by different companies and in order to stay on they need that money.

We all know Morgan is an idiot, so no surprise. I respect Adam's views and ideas quite a bit, so the only bias I see is from those who can't handle Nintendo criticism.

I have my likes & dislikes on all three consoles (I've owned them all), and for "me" the Wii carried the most dislikes. I agree their is some shady journalism going on, and Nintendo has taken a lot of heat (some deserved, some not). As long as you are ok with building your own valid opinion, it's all good in the end.

Let's just play some damn video games! *back to Uncharted 2 I go*

I don't mind if they criticize Nintendo. I mind if they only criticise Nintendo but spin everything about Sony and Microsoft in a good way. I watch a show about video games to here the good and bad about all the games and systems. I don't watch it to see a Video Game Version of Fox News.

I was never too into those programs. I think I watched one episode, and I don't remember anything nice they had to say about Nintendo games. I've also noticed a similar bias in Game Informer, which led me to remove my subscription from Gamestop.

I don't pay attention to their reviews and ratings but I do watch when they interview developers and whatnot.

AOTS and (American) Ninja Warrior are good. I'll check out that Marvel on G4 anime to see how that is.

Wow, I haven't watch G4 in years, ever since my cable pervider moved them up to the digital channel. Judging how what I've heard about them lately, I'm not missing much and glad I don't watch it.

G4 isn't shown on my Comcast lineup, so I have to go On Demand to see what's up there. However, I did used to have G4, and I agree with the fact about thier biases with Nintendo, especially Adam Sessler. He's such a jerk. They are also heavily biased on Sonic games too, which btw is still one of the best game franchises. Now the only shows worth watching are AOTS and Ninja Warrior. And of course, E3.

They have a good reason to dislike most Sonic games. Sonic Colors and Sonic Rush have been the best Sonic games since Sonic Adventure 2.

Mostly because G4 always bashes Nintendo and talks about how much better XBox and Playstation is than any thing Nintendo makes. It just kills them to admit that a Nintendo game is good. Like How Morgan Webb Loves Ratchet and Clank because they have Fart moves, then talks about how bad Mario Galaxy Sucks because it's not Mature enough. And talks about how Nintendo games suck but they would be completely awesome if they were on XBox or Playstation. G4 is either payed off by Sony and Microsoft, or they just hire complete idiots to do their shows. Either way I don't watch their crap anymore, It's the Fox News of Video Games.

Seems obvious to me that they get kickbacks or whatever support/bribery from certain publishers to push their titles. Same with certain gaming sites, I watch/visit for some info, videos, screenshots and interviews but I don't lend any weight to their reviews. I decide whether or not I like game.

The thing is, they cater to the "core gamer". Mostly meaning, the mainstream type of gamer that plays shooters for the most part. The ones that continue to make CoD games such a uber-hit in sales.

And because Ninty systems are not known for having such games, G4 simply points and laughs at anyone that owns said systems and whatnot. Basically, giving them no respect. Looking at Skyward Sword and complaining that they have to play a game that looks like it belongs in the PS2 era. Not giving a hoot about how the gameplay of SS 1ups the majority of the crap they go bonkers over at Xplay.
