Both R.O.B. and Mr. Game & Watch look and feel too inhuman (maybe because they are) along side the other fighters IMO.

If someone wants to make a "Videogame all-stars" fine but don't go mucking up my SSB with your 3rd party appearences. However, I don't mind 3rd party characters in, if they're ALL DLC. That way you can choose to have them if you want and not forced down people like me's throat.

I feel the same way but you know that it's not going to stop anytime soon. I just hope whoever they decide to add at least fits into the Nintendo Universe and aren't just there to get people who never played/cared to buy it.

I agree that there shouldn't be third party characters in Smash Bros. It's supposed to be all about Nintendo's history. Third party characters just kind of take away from that.

Above all I just want all the characters to feel unique, even if it means less characters. There's too many clones.

Well Masahiro Sakurai said he wanted to add Capcom to the new SSB game. Maybe Mega Man will be in it

I agree as well, but its too late now so if we have to have third party, I hope they are important to Nintendo's history. Mega Man is the only one I want to see.

Third party is fine with me if it fits Nintendo's history. Mega Man makes sense. Snake didn't really make sense, but he was my favorite character...so even then, if the characters play well, I'll take them...

I've always said, three third-party characters that would fit into Smash Bros. (all with "man" integrated in their name differently) are Namco's Pac-Man, Hudson's Bomberman, and Capcom's Mega Man.

Pac-Man's been around about as long as Donkey Kong, they share arcade roots, and he and Mario have crossed paths before, in the Mario Kart arcade games and Pac-Man Vs. (sort of). Similarly, Bomberman's faced off against Wario in Wario Blast! featuring Bomberman. Mega Man's been a staple for the NES players, it's really hard to imagine a NES library without a Mega Man game...though Capcom seems to have their hate-on for Mega Man, I dunno what's up with that.

Not that any of those are necessarily real "reasons" to include them or to think they are likely, but sometimes it feels like Nintendo has at one time or another been close to these three companies, and they just seem to "fit" better than, say, Konami's Solid Snake, who somehow made the cut in Brawl.

i hope they consider Simon Belmont for SSB4. 18 Castlevanias (19 if you count Rondo of Blood on VC) on Nintendo platforms is, in my opinion, enough to justify his inclusion. also, if they included Mega Man, how would they integrate his copy power? have him grab the enemy and say "Now I've got your power!" (lol)? or just pull a MvC and have some of his specials based on Robot Master weapons?
it's fun to dream, isn't it?

What Potentials to discuss here?
- Stages
- Characters
- Story
- Unlockables
- Modes
- Improvements from Brawl/Melee/64
- DLC?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

For me, I want the following:
- Have Samus and Zero Suit Samus as separate character slots (and no Heel Suit Samus either), sorta like Zelda and Sheik
- A Galaxy stage that is a round planetoid
- Costumes instead of colors, or both
- A more Nintendo-like Collaboration story
- Mega Man Classic and Ryu Hayabusa as 3rd Party Characters
- Better Online, and every mode available in Online (Party System)
- Trading Post for Unlockables
- The ability to use a Golden Hammer on any Challenge, including the hard ones
- Toggle which Pokemon and Assist Trophies come out (But can only do so once you've seen them all)

That's really all I can think of for now.

Um on the development, i read that it was been developed as soon as Kid Icarus Uprising was finished, is this true?

I agree with whats already said here, been able to toggle Pokemon would be good and more 3rd parties would be great!!...i also would like more of a story player mode like brawl and maybe some better items.
Mario+Zelda What more do you need?

i think they're still developing Kid Icarus Uprising and that Sakuri has yet to fully assemble a team to even begin working on SmashU. this is about 2 months old but it doesn't sound like news that would have changed in 2 months: http://www.1up.com/news/don-expect-smash-bros-anytime

Right, Kid Icarus is still in development. I'm sure we wont see or hear much more on the next Smash Bros until E3 next year. I know I'll be eagerly awaiting the first trailer.

and we know it'll only be a 10 second teaser:

scene: f-zero track.

long shot: mario tosses a mecha-koopa at mega man, who absorbs the machine's power, and... fade to black.

His charge shot! Similar to Samus, but with a semi-automatic firing rate.

With the new HD graphics,
Reggie Fils-Aime should defiantly be added as one of the new characters.
This reminds me of a puzzle.

He'll keep an eye out on European sales to see how it does.

As for a Smash Bros. trailer, you know it'll take place on Battlefield, like it always does. The third party character introduced will probably be Slime from Dragon Quest.

As for stages, I want Grandmaster Galaxy as a stage. 1 of 6 randomly chosen areas for fighting sounds sweet.

I also want stages that change in size depending on how many people are fighting. When players get eliminated, parts of the stage would just fall off. It'd alleviate the problem for stages like New Pork City that are too big.
Mega Man 9 isn't hard, you're just not paying attention
Sakamoto Lied. Samus Died.

Shouldn't he already be able to do that?

Will he be rendered in 3D or flat like MG&W? I think he'd work better as an assist trophy than a fighter. He doesn't even have a name.

Dlc would be such an awesome feature to ssb.
Some new characters I would love to see in the game would be:
Mega Man (overdue)
Little Mac
Sonic (super sonic)
Sephiroth (I know it probably will not happen, but... It is just a wish list)
I think it'd be cool if Link had his power from Twilight Princess to turn himself into a wolf.
That's all I can think of.

Brawl was the first time third party characters were introduced so how is Mega Man overdue?

Sonic is in Brawl so it's likely that he'll be in the next.

If they decide to add Sephiroth they'd have to add Cloud as well. But then we'd have 6 or so swordsmen in SSB.

what i honestly want more than anything is a true stage builder. one that allows you to create and use your own parts without being very difficult. it should also allow multiple songs per level, multiple versions(like mushroomy kingdom or like frigate)the choice to be moving, background of your choice and also the abiltity to crop parts of existing levels. add all this and you've got yourself one heck of a stage builder.

any other ideas for a better stage builder that anyone has?
