3DS Streetpass Notifications

I live in a college area, so I have quite a few streetpasses: 43. I think the streetpass feature is really neat and I always get excited whenever I see that little green light in the corner of my 3DS.

I finally got a streetpass notification. Three in fact. I would hope so after spending 3 days at our state fair and passing THOUSANDS of people each day.

What I DIDN'T realize though, was that if you don't collect a puzzle piece and use the guest mii in Find Mii before greeting the next mii, you lose the chance. That sucks.

Thanks for reminding me! I'm in college too and classes start tomorrow. I got my 3DS during the summer so there haven't been very many people on campus until this week. I'll have to remember to throw my 3DS in my bag and see how many "hits" (that's my cool-kid-college-lingo for "streetpasses") I can get.

I can't wait for my college classes to start, I want more streetpasses! So far I have only had one, that was inside of a Best Buy...

I've gotten about 7 so far, and only 1 from a friend. I've gotten them when going to work, and while I was at the airport. That's probably another place people would likely bring their 3DS.

For those of you who were wondering how long it takes for another 3DS to be recognized in the vicinity, I think it depends. I believe the 3DS only checks every couple of seconds for another 3DS, because it's definitely not instantaneous. My friend and I put our 3DSes about 1 foot apart and it took several tries to get them to recognize each other.

For me, streetpass works pretty fast, there is 19 persons in my Mii Plazza, many i met at Uni. I with other 59 times. But I take the train twice a month on average, that's why. Today, for the first time, I received a streetpass notification from a cartridge game (that was Nintendogs). So the notification was in the notification application, and when i put the cart in the 3DS, there was the green round on the corner of the cartrige in the menu. This is really cool. Unfortunately, Nintendogs is my only streetpass game so far (with Pokedex3D maybe), and I don't think a lot of people have it...

3DS is back from repair. But I am away at college and won't get it till friday. Had a family member check the Streetpass plaza and it seems that Nintendo had to erase all date, because the User Agreement popped up. My SD card isn't in the system so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

i've been getting a couple a week, which is cool. the funny thing is that even though i have roughly the same commute schedule every day i haven't gotten the same person twice yet, and also even though i glance around when i'm out i still haven't seen a mii in my streetpass plaza and thought, "oh, i remember seeing that person five minutes ago". but it's still a fun little diversion.
