An example of this would be to "fog" far away areas. This way, it doesn't put too much pressure on the GPU/CPU.

You might as well lock this thread, NOA announced today it isn't coming.

How defeatist of you, so explain to me how is the response on Facebook anything near a complete official response? That's like taking the Wal-Mart greeter's knowledge of the business as in-depth, doesn't quite work.

Also, this is a thread about Xenoblade/Monado, not the release dating, not the localization, about the game and anything about the game. EU counts.

They didn't "announce" anything. They said pretty much exactly what anyone should have expected them to say. What they ALWAYS say, even right up to the day before they DO announce a game. Which is, almost verbatim: "At this time, we have no plans to localize these games". They didn't say "Sorry f***, we're not bringing these games to you, ever, so shut it!". What they said doesn't imply that they'll NEVER do it, it implies that they either aren't focusing on it right this minute, or that they are, but for some crazy reason don't feel like saying so (they have done this many times in the past, so it would not be surprising whatsoever). Nintendo of America has flat out lied and denied stuff that DOES wind up being true, over and over again before, it's how they operate, cause they're super secret like that. So either we never get them, or they do eventually throw us a bone.

Either way, that doesn't mean this movement can't keep going ,and it doesn't mean that people can't continue relentlessly bugging the s*** out of them in a myriad of ways, to possibly annoy them to the point of saying "Damn, they must REALLY want these games." Who knows? Can't hurt to keep trying.

Please explain when NOA has lied about something only for it to come true later on...

Being secretive is not the same as lying.
Platformers are my favorite gaming genre. Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros., Sonic Rush, Sonic Colors, Mega Man 9 and 10. It's a great time to be a platformer fan!

Remember the Black Wii had a similar retort to it and everyone frowned and went home? Then instantly, we got black Wiis?

Not saying this is a same scenario, but not saying we're doomed either.

Something tells me we're getting a Odama/Geist stunt pulled on us with this, as the final months of GCN is when they came around when the Wii was starting to get really hyped. Not the most pleasant experience.

I consider NOA's Facebook to be the same thing as their website. It isn't a fan page, and is an official way to get news about Nintendo in general. To say it isn't official is a little misguided, at best, and in denial about the whole situation at worst.

You are right, though, I felt defeated, dejected, and should never have said to lock this thread. When I saw Monado, when it wasn't even shown at their E3 conference in 2009, but given a press release afterward, I was shocked! An RPG on the Wii? I couldn't wait! But as time wore on, there was very little to go on, except the news from Japan. Oh well...we all know the story.

I laugh about it all now...I am at that point. NOA's localization record is the joke of this whole generation. It isn't sad anymore, just utterly ridiculous...laughable.

But as others say this is what NOA always does...denial until a month or two from release. Maybe Xenoblade and Last Story are still coming, and they just don't want to talk about them until localization is finished. Or, maybe it is like Disaster, and the games are never coming.
Who knows, I don't care anymore. I don't check on them like I used to...don't care about it until I hear anything substantial from NOA.

When they denied saying that they stopped printing Metroid Prime Trilogy, and a slew of other games...it was Nintendo's PR firm, GolinHarris(not sure if they work together anymore). Nintendo themselves then REFUSED to even comment on the topic, and still haven't to this day.

But we all knew the Prime Trilogy was a limited edition. It was bound to end eventually. At least they were truthful regarding the limited availability of Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition.

But that did indeed get a reprint so was it really limited?

I would've loved to have played this game. But like I said in an article earlier, I have so little time for gaming and have quite a few games that I still have to finish, and even more that I never got around to buying, that I really doubt that I would have bought this game, when there's other games that have an equal amount of my interest, that I can get for cheaper, like No More Heroes 2 and Red Steel 2.
Add me and i'll add you.
PM me if you do.

Any fellow importers or Euro fans out there on GoNintendo who have played the game? I'm about 20 hours into the game, in Eryth Sea, and I'm loving every second of it. I've played the Japanese version as early as last year, so I was already aware of how vast the scale of this game and the extensive exploration of the environment, but now it's in english I'm able to really understand the complexities of the battle system so that I'm not just bashing away at things blindly, same goes for the quests, and being able to be drawn into the story. The only thing that sucks is my last year in graduate school is starting so I'm looking for all the time I can get to play this, but I should be ok atleast for this part of the year.

UKer here, just about 30 hours in and am at Eryth Sea. Just entered it's goal location in fact.

The game world is HUGE and there's lots of quests to do - but unlike FFXIII this game actually feels like it has substance in its exploration / optional quests / world. Xenoblade's battle system is also rad [and I'm much a lover of the dying turn-based RPGs].

Lovin' it all in all! :D

Ya I'm rushing through the story right now and feel like I've only experienced a fraction of everything in each area. My brother is doing the exact opposite and trying to get as close to 100% as possible in each area before moving on, but that's difficult with alot of high-level enemies around. I'll try that on my second play through. But I agree, I've never liked MMO's or Western RPG's. Xenoblade I think is making me realize that it's not so much the ideas in such games I dislike, just their execution. There's just so much soul, substance, and inspiration to Xenoblade by comparison.

I'm right about to enter Prison Island. The place has been foreshadowed for half of my play time so I'm having high expectations after it's been built up for so long.

Xenoblade Chronicles - 4/3/12 in US

Postby KingBroly » 02 Dec 2011 11:46

Source: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=454122

Nintendo's Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 711&type=3

NOA's Site: http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/09 ... uz4zsz63F4

After inquiring a local Gamestop I can confirm that this is not a joke and it is in their systems. Xenoblade Chronicles is scheduled for a US Release on 4/3/2012.

Note: It is going to be a Gamestop Exclusive Release

I am of the camp that doesn't believe a word GameStop says even if they try to tell me Wii U is Nintendo's upcoming console XP if this turns out true. This'll be the first thing I've bought from them in 10 years and actually 1 month. Last time was March 2002 XD watch it bomb and Nintendo misses the fact all those that would have bought it probably imported it pike me or worse just pirated it =/ and they'll be like "See my shiny chin is always right!" ...
