Maybe it's not there because they have all drank the ps3/360 Kool-Aid. Just because they are afraid to say a criticle word about their favorite system doesn't mean they are better or their system doesn't have any problems.
The reason Nintendo fans feel the need to defend their choice is because childish (aka mature) Sony/ Microsoft fans who consider themselves "cool" and the only real Hardcore gamers constantly bash Nintendo. the best games developers in the world are making games for the HD systems.

Nintendo is the best software developer hands down. Just because you didn't like Steel Diver doesn't change that fact. If they weren't why are other companies afraid to even try to compete against Nintendo games. And why do Sony/Microsoft fans always want Nintendo to go third party so they can play their games. Who would you say is the best developer? EA? Activision? Because they sure as hell don't release sequels to their games over and over and over (at a much much faster pace than Nintendo does). Just because the games have HD graphics definately does not make them better.

You're right. The NES and SNES WERE probably (in my mind) the two greatest game consoles of all time. But I've got news for you. For better or for worse, the video game industry has changed. You're NEVER going to get a "Super Nintendo 2". Know why? Because those systems were awesome BECAUSE they were in the era they were in. BECAUSE they were 8 and 16 bit, BECAUSE they were 2D retro goodness. Nintendo "changed with the times", like I said, for better or worse, with N64 onwards, and they continue to do so. Gaming will never go back to what it was back then, and that's a damned shame. Because I wish it would.

To even suggest that a console that has sold over 70 million units world wide, is "one of the worst of all time", is laughable. To further suggest that it's because the system lacks games for "adult gamers", is even MORE laughable, and really begs the question of your actual age or maturity level. For one thing, REAL ADULTS don't need games that say "Rated M for Mature" on the box to let them know it's okay for them to play and enjoy it. That sounds like the Morgan Webb line of logic. And for another, the Wii, for all it's perceived faults, has many of the best, and most highly regarded (not to mention highest selling) games of this generation. First AND Third party.

You do know Pikmin is getting a new game right? Even though the new Star Fox game is a remake, Nintendo is still releasing it and in a way is giving the series a chance again.

I think its funny that you mentioned Bethesda, a company where a lot of there games play really similar to each other except with a different setting, but bashed Nintendo for doing something similar to that.

i do own stock and have several records in gumshoe, timesplitters, mortal kombat 3 and mega man 7.

third party games

RPG: name a wii third party RPG better than Mass Effect 2 or fallout?
FPS: name a wii third party FPS better than battlefield or halo?
adventure: name a third part game better than demon's souls or bioshock?
Third person action game: name a third part effort better than GTA4 or LA noir?
Third person shooter: name a third part effort better than deadspace or gears of war or uncharted?
platformer: name a third party game better than shadow complex or little big planet?
RTS: name a third party game better than halo wars?
strategy: name a third person strategy game better than portal?

you can't, not by sales proof or ratings data cause overall, wii third party is mostly fail

world of goo, re4, beatles rock band and cave story are the only 4 third party wii games with
an aggregate score of a 9.0 or higher and three of them are cross platform!

pikmen is coming out, but it should have been out by now instead of wii music and steel diver.
starfox is a nice remake, but i have been there done that. more rehash and no online battle mode
screw bethesda, there are a ton of brilliant 3rd party companies who are not putting games on wii (cause they don"t sell and they can't do innovative stuff on old hardware) that you just ignore.

We all know that the Wii doesnt get multiplatform games. But, to dismiss every third party game on the Wii as crap is bad practice. There well may be crap there, but some of the games you mention as the best in third party titles are crap.

But while I grew up a Nintendo fan, I will come right out and say the Saturn was an awesome system. In fact, with the exception of NO real Sonic game, it was arguably their best console. Did 2D games, and arcade ports really well. Had some cool games like Clockwork Knight, Astal, Nights, Panzer Dragoon, etc. It was at least a decent system, if not a very good one. Dreamcast was more popular, for it's time, but only for like 3 seconds. Saturn would have lasted longer if Sega had really bothered supporting it.

It's not like "HEY MAN, THE PS3 SOLD BADLY, SO NINTENDO'S GONNA COME PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE NOW." Because at the end of the day, I'm actually USING my other systems, and the Wii is in a closet. So the PS3 has 7 games you mention plus a f***ton of others. And you bought your Wii and immediately stuck it in the closet and never played it because it sucks so bad and has absolutely no cool games? Well I'm getting to play games like Mario Galaxy 1&2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Punch-Out!!, Metroid Prime 3, Tatsunoko Vs.
