Basic Information
Release Date: 9/28/11
Cost: Free until February 20th, 2012
# of Players: 1-4
Platform: DSiWare eShop

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary is a pseudo port/remake of the multiplayer portion of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords for the Game Boy Advance. In addition to remaking the maps/puzzles for the game, new maps/puzzles are being offered in addition to allowing the game to be playable in single player FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Maps are randomly generated depending on the number of players you have in a game, and allow you to compete against your friends for the highest score in every level, in addition to helping you traverse through them. The Single Player portion of the game allows you to control an AI-colored Link (Red) in order to do so.

Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition

Postby The_King_Up_North » 28 Sep 2011 19:38

Hey, have you guys noticed that on the 3DS's homescreen, the Zelda icon animates without even having to highlight it? I don't have any other icon that does that, is this the first?

...And I suppose this can also be a Four Swords general thread if you guys want it to be. :P

Zelda Four Swords Anniversary

Hey there. Everyone enjoying this awesome free game? Well I would be, but there seems to be a problem my friends and I are having. We keep getting a connection error everytime we play. With two of us, and with three. We were in close range too, all playing with 3DS's.

Could be because you're using different region'd systems. That's the only thing I can think of as a problem.

We bought all of our 3DS's from the same place on launch day. No one else is having this problem?

I've been reading that the game is having disconnect problems. I don't know why it would though.

I beat the game earlier tonight. Apparently I need more Rupees to get Better Keys for the Final Dungeon and such. I don't really see how that's possible, or a good formula for unlocking levels. I tried the SNES world and I really hate it, too.

Seeing as I don't own a DSi or 3DS (just the old Lite model), I really wish they'd throw us a bone and also release this on WiiWare. I mean I don't see why not. Celebrating Zelda and all. I know Wii is getting SS, but c'mon. I always thought this game would be cool to play, IF you could play local multiplayer with 4 controllers. You could do that with Wii.

C'Mon Nintendo. Make my day.

Get a DSi XL already. It's the best DS. It's so BIG. I love mine, and it's my system of choice for this game (since DS games look terrible on 3DS with the colors being completely washed out).

I beat it, beat the first level of the Realm of Memories, and then tried the second one before giving up on the second stage of it because the game gave me an un-winnable level design.

You make a good point, but I barely play my black Lite as it is. And whenever I can afford, and enough games that I want come out for it, I'll probably just get a 3DS anyway. Is there no way to fix the "washed out" thing you're talking about?

But I still say they should release this for WiiWare. Nintendo could give us one great last release for it, after all. I STILL want Frontier to get off their asses and give us LostWind 3. Part 2 was fantastic, but it totally ignored the storyline set up by the first game...with, you know, the main BAD guy and all.
