Hey Podcast peeps,

I'm totally hyped for the upcoming or recently released Skyward Sword, so I've got Zelda on the brain. From your discussions on the podcast, I generally know which console Zelda games you've all played, but I'm still not sure how many of you have played through Wind Waker. If not, why not? It's got sploosh-kabooom!

My earliest introduction to the GoNintendo Podcast crew was through the MST3K videos, so I was really happy to hear that Sprite Rippers Vol. 3 would finally be appearing circa August 18th. There's been a slight gap between now and when it was announced in April of 2009, but it's finally here so I couldn't be happier. Actually, it reminds me of when The Critic made its much hyped return to TV after being picked up by Fox.

Thanks again for all of your dedication to the art of p'casting!

USAAA Games

With Monster Hunter Tri 3G and Monster Hunter 4 coming to the Nintendo 3DS and Dragon Warrior X coming to Wii U, Nintendo has the exclusive, AAA system-selling games that they need to popularize its systems in Japan. All of this, and there is still Pokémon (Grey) to fall back on as well.

What games, for the 3DS and Wii U, should/can Nintendo secure in order to win over the American market in this same way?

Thank you.

Necessary Future Hardware Features

If the Wii U releases without support for an equivalent of DirectX 11/OpenGL 4.2, then it would be in a similar situation as the 3DS releasing without a second slide pad. Except I don't think an expansion would be able to fix it.

It seems fairly obvious that the next generation development efforts are based around DirectX 11/OpenGL 4.2 functionality (Feel free to include any engines that I may have left out):

Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4
id Software's id Tech 6
Crytek's CryEngine 4
DICE's Frostbite 3
Techland's Chrome Engine 6
CD Projekt's RED Engine 2
Capcom's MT Framework 3
Square-Enix's Luminous Engine
Valve's Source Engine

I can’t emphasize enough how critical this is. As long as the Wii U can support DirectX 11/OpenGL 4.2 level functionality and features, it should be able to compete with the new systems that Microsoft and Sony will eventually release. Of course the Wii U can run ports of games developed for the PS3 and 360, but the Wii U's ability to run the next-gen engines will secure its position as a viable console for developers to release their future multiplatform games onto.

If the Wii U can handle the next-gen game engines that require a DirectX 11/OpenGL 4.2 level of functionality and features, then it will enjoy the multiplatform support that the PS3 and 360 had. If the Wii U cannot run the next-gen engines, then it will suffer from having a similar level of multiplatform support that the Wii had.

Nintendo 3DS Lite XL

I believe that a 3DS redesign should be released at the same time as the PS Vita (in the US), and it should be priced in the range of $199-$250. Perhaps the 3DS Lite might be $199 and the 3DS XL might be $250. The redesigned system should have a built-in second slide pad, ZL & ZR triggers, a widescreen touchscreen, a better battery life, and higher megapixel cameras. This would not only appease developers, who want similar button layouts for ports, but it also allows the system to be used as a complete alternative to the Wii U controller. They would likely need to include the magnetometer sensors that the Wii U controller has as well. It would be nice to also have built-in rumble and a multi-touch capacitive widescreen for both the 3DS and Wii U.

Good morrow and salutations, podcasters.

My word, it has been a while since I posted in here, isn't it? After my heartfelt message to you in the 'first comments' of the top stories, it's such a coincidence that the Questioms Thread is open the very next week.

I have but a one inquiry for you today. If you have been on the internet in the past months, you have seen it. You must have. It took 4chan by storm, spread all across the internet, and shot to the top of the Know Your Meme page. At least half of the internet must be fans of it. It's astonishing just how prolific something so trivial has become. So podcasters, do you watch the most popular show on the internet?

Do you watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?

Good Morrow Podcast Crew,

Your Tyrannical Dictator of a Mod has once again slipped under the lock of justice to beckon you to his chamber of sunshine and happiness for a brief discussion on third party support for the Ghost of the Nintendo Console that has yet to be.

You are currently comfortable buying third party games on other systems, whether it be Grand Theft Auto (the last one was terrible), Final Fantasy (the last one also terrible), Call of Duty (see the pattern?) or Assassin's Creed (milking that cow hard). What is the percentage chance you will change your purchase of these type of games on other platforms to a Wii U version of these games that are hopefully released day-and-date with them?

That is all for now, and remember - I ban because I care.
Mega Man 9 isn't hard, you're just not paying attention

Dear podcast crew,
I saw the tread was opening so I have a few quick questions
1. Why does Mombrain hate Disney World?
2. Do you agree that the 3DS circle pad pro does not necessarily mean a new 3DS since It would have to be bigger and thicker (try not to laugh while reading that) and so far no 3DS 1st party games use it.
3. Please play my song during music section!
Thank you and have a nice day

Hey Podcast crew I have 2 questions.

1. After playing Skyward Sword, what do you think is your favorite Zelda item?

2. I would love to see some new IP's from Nintendo for the Wii U and 3DS. But after Kid Icarus are there any old Nintendo franchises you would like to see a comeback or have a refresh. Apart from some re-imagined Ice Climber I would love to see the return of Wave Race and the 1080 franchises.

Thanks from Red Dragon.

Hey podcast crew, I just want to know, how do you feel about the Roller Coaster Tycoon series? What's your favorite game in the series? What do you expect in the 3DS version? Are you interested in the 3DS version? I love Roller Coaster Tycoon (my fave is RCT 2), and I hope RCT 3DS will be more like RCT 1 and 2, instead of the somewhat annoying RCT 3. Have an awesome day, and keep up the great podcast work!

Good news, podcast crew!

Your old pal Rhyno here, back for more questiom times.

I think we can all agree that Skyward Sword is an amazing game. It has proven to be one of, if not the best of the franchise. But no game is perfect. If you could change one thing about Link's latest adventure to make it even better, what would that be?

Thanks for being my #1 Nintendo news site and keep up all the great work!

I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff.

Hey guys, been a while since we talked and Rawmeat said I wasn't a true Nintendo fan, and he called me fat and stupid and kicked sand in my Ice-cream when we all went to the beach that 1 time... You guys remember right, you were there too!!..but you did nothing....nothing...

Anywho, to veer from RMC's wrath, I will stick to more whimsical questions this week...

1. Do you guys watch DBZ abridged or Yugioh abridged? I believe you haven't because I never hear you quote tem and you guys quote everything...

2. Will Nicky Hill ever come back? I miss him, without him there, Mom B has to take most of the flack when it comes to music and stuff. He was your lightning rod of hate, just like Meg...

3. and...An..And finally...Ahh, I just can't hold it in anymore. Everyone who isn't RMC, given the choice would you either want the 20 "games" you got and are getting from the Ambassador program or $70 in eShop store credit? And RMC you can't influence anyone's answers.

And for the record, I never said those were bad games or that I didn't like them. Not in the slightest. I just said I didn't want them. Why would I want games I either already have played hundreds of times or own a hundred different versions of.

And so if Rawmeat wants to join in on the Anime fun, I'll go deeper into my bag. I'll do 1 this time...

1. He's strong. No. He's Terrifying. No. He's awesome!! I knew he was strong, but I didn't know this strong...( Celty commenting on Shizuo's fighting Saika, "Durarara!!")

Well, I hope Rawmeat isn't too mad at me for my transgressions...Later guys, until then, JACK OUT, MEGAMAN!!...

Hey Podcast Crew!

Mega Man games have evidently been put on pause and as far as I can tell, this is the first time in
some 20 years that there hasn't been a Mega Man game in development. Much like the crew, I am
troubled by this news especially since I had been looking forward to Mega Man Legends
3 more than any Mega Man game in recent years. Unlike some members of the crew however, I also
kept up with the more off-beat titles such as Battle Network.

Would you be okay if Mega Man returned purely in spin-off, non-side scrolling form or would you rather not have him return at all?

Stay awesome,

Greeting podcast roundtable, just some small question today:

I've heard RMC refer to Earthbound before, but what I don't know is if he (or anyone) has actually played it. If anyone at the warehouse or listening hasn't, they definitely should as it's one of my favorite games of all time. I think other members can vouch for me.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Ey up there, got some questions for you guys.

1. What's your all time favourite mount in a Zelda game? For lack of better word... i.e Epona, Mr Boat or the Birdy thing from Skyward Sword.

2. What person or group have been the most annoying people to you personally this year? I'd have to go with either EA, or Bronies, EA because they can't get over the fact that Call of Duty is more popular than their stuff, Bronies because they won't shut up about My Little Pony. Boourns to them all I say.

Keep up the hilarity guys!

Good news, Podcast Crew!

Rhyno here again, so it's questiom time.

People complained that some of the NES Ambassador games weren't that good, but the GBA games have been much more well-received. I'm glad for all of them, since they're free. But if you could switch out any of the GBA games, what would you change out?

I'd switch out either Fire Emblem or F-Zero for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I miss that game...

Anywho, thanks again for all the awesomeness.

It's like a party in my mouth and everyone's throwing up.

Hello Podcast Crew,

If you were a member of Captain N's crew which video game land would you want to go to?

Bonus Question:
Again assuming you were part of Captain N's crew, would you kill Simon Belmont if given the chance?
P.S. Let's be honest he's askin' to be whacked.

1. Are Kikwis a great Zelda species or the greatest Zelda species? I really love Kikwis! Please take 20 to 30 minutes to discuss their awesomeness
2. What are your thoughts on the 3DS launch game Steel Diver. As you can see by my name I like it.
Thanks

Hey GoNintendo podcast crew! WowItzMike here. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, all that crap.

A couple questions for y'all!

1. What are your new years resolutions for Two-O-Twelve (in LubeSpeak), assuming that they're not too sensitive to say on the podcast?

Mine is to floss more!

Also to stop pressing my face against my cactus. I don't know why I do it, it just makes me... alive.

Anyway podcastolinos! On to the next question.

2. When is that podcast party going to be? I recently moved to Philadelphia and I'd love to come out to see you and all the great folks from the site.

3. Where has my main man Nicky Hill? Has he gone off to begin the creative process of Nitro Hill, or has his face been irremovably stuck on a cactus somewhere?

Have a great 2012. Keep up the great podcast, and despite what people seem to be saying- keep the other members of the crew. I love RMC, but having a hearty group of friends is what makes this podcast special.

Thanks,

Good news, Podcast Crew!

Questiom time, GO!

2012 is here and that can only mean one thing: The end of the world.

No...wait...I meant Wii U.

Nintendo has recently stressed the importance of third parties on their systems, and so far we've seen plenty of support for the 3DS both in retail and on the eShop. What third party game would you most like to see on Wii U and how do you think it would make for clever use of the tablet controller?

I'm looking forward to playing the Assassin's Creed game Ubisoft has in development. Switching between weapons in your inventory would be a snap with the tablet in front of you.

As always, thanks for being so splendiferous and I wish you all a wonderful 2012.

I guess if you want children beaten, you have to do it yourself.

Wing-dab a-daba pod-casters! Good-Ruck.

1. What features if any would you add to Swap Note to enable more efficient and fun phallus drawing? I'd love a colour palette and maybe an undo button should I misplace a vein here and there.

2. Do those of you with PC gaming tendencies partake in any mods, hilarious or otherwise? I just had a chance to try out the GTA IV frictionless car tweak(thanks to you for mentioning it a few shows back) and I am LOVING IT. There's nothing quite like re-educating' 'bustas' and capping 'asses' as Lupin III on the streets of San Andreas either.

3. What are some of the best (work-safe) co-op experiences you've had? My girlfriend isn't the greatest at games ( to be honest, neither am I) so I was pleased to discover how simple to get into and ultimately charming Rayman Origins co-op is, I picked it up over the holidays and it's gotta be one of my favorite Wii titles. We finally have something to play together! :D

That's all folks, keep up the good work and try to stay gay for moleman!

Hey Podcasters, this guy is back to ask some questions!!1 So let's get to it

1. Besides the Wii U and games you already know are coming out this year, what are some of your anticipated gaming news you want to know this year? For example, I want to hear more about What Tetsuya Nomura plans to do for TWETWY and if it will get a remake or a sequel. Those KH cameos are too much for my heart to take.

Sorry, I know I usually ask more than that, but that's all I got. I'm sure once I submit this, like a million questions will rush to my mind...

And I got 1 anime quote...Let's see if RMC did his homework...

1. Person 1: Jack, look out!!
Person 2: Crown look out!!
Person 3: Wario, look out!!
Wario: Ima gonna win!! ( Yugioh: The abridged movie) favorite line in the movie...

... Well later guys and until then, JACK OUT!! MEGAMAN...

Hey Podcast Crew! I just have a couple of questions for you guys:

1) What was your FAVORITE game of 2011? In other words, what game does GoNintendo's GOTY award go to? Personally, I think Super Mario 3D Land deserves GOTY. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun the game was and how well the game blended together elements from both the 2D and 3D Mario games.

2) What new things do you guys want to see in Animal Crossing 3DS? Does Nintendo need to drastically change anything in the franchise to make it more interesting again? (The answer to that is YES). I, personally, would like to see a story or a plot in Animal Crossing. Maybe you can find hidden dungeons and fight monsters in order to save Tortimer? I don't know; I just want to do something OTHER THAN paying a never-ending debt to a certain greedy raccoon.

3) Final question: What is your favorite Mario Kart game? My favorites are definitely Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart 64 because of how simple and fun those are, especially battle mode with friends!

Thanks for answering my questions! Have a delightfully wonderful day :)

Hello Podcast Crew.

First time question asker here, and here is the only thing I can come up with.

Reggie Fils-Amie’s car has broken down in front of your house. His cell phone has also ran out of power, so he now has to ring your doorbell and ask to use your phone to call a tow truck.

1. While waiting for the tow truck to arrive, what non-gaming questions would you ask him? I would probably ask him if he wanted something to drink.

2. To pass time while waiting for the tow truck to arrive, what game would you suggest playing? I’d probably suggest one of the Smash Bros games.

3. Would you get him to sign anything? I’d probably get him to sign the Brawl case with “Reggie kicked ass and took names here.” I'd also have him sign the Wii remote that he used.

Thanks for your answers and the countless hours of entertainment you have provided Podcast crew.

Hey podcast bodcasts,

I'm looking forward to all of the usual WiiU stuff, but I'm also hoping that a new Crystal Chronicles is somewhere down the line. What do you guys want in a WiiU Crystal Chronicles game? Personally, I really hope they include a system that doesn't require every player to have a copy of the game or have their own 3DS. We had to jump through hoops just to play the GameCube version since none of my friends have GBAs; we had to settle for using three GameCubes with Gameboy Players, three extra TV screens, and a noodly boulder of wires. It was all worth it when we delivered that last blow to the final boss.

Speaking of RPG's with co-op play... how's your progress on Tales of Symphonia? Didn't you guys get that as a gift from King Broly at the end of the 100th podcast or something?

Thank you Gonintendo for saying what needs to be said,

Cerberiga

P.S. Glad that Vitamin G is back/was back for a while! It's just like old times.
