It doesn't seem like you were all that interested in it given your impressions of the Target demo. I also suggest fixing your avatar.

Beat the second dungeon. That boss was pretty interesting I must say. My arm's getting really tired. I wish Nintendo laid off the motion controls just a bit and gave me some IR controls or heaven forbid analog controls for just one or two things. I'm also kinda disappointed that
Spoiler:
besides the Boss Keys, I'm not seeing anything in regards to puzzles.
I'm sure that'll change though since I've heard things.

Played it finally. It's seems like a solid game so far. Two things I DO NOT like however, thus far, are the horrid, unskippable "how to" video upon first play. Whatever genius thought that was a cool idea, should be slugged in the face. I literally almost didn't feel like playing after having to sit through three minutes of that BS.

The other being, a minor issue, I do not like having to swing the Wiimote to throw things. A button press would have worked fine. Swinging for swordplay and whatnot, expected. But just to throw something? Not a fan.

You may be right, I'm going to play through the first dungeon, and if I still feel this way. I'm giving trading it to a friend of mine who made this new avatar, felicia from darkstalkers in a tanuki suit.

It's like a 40 hour game. The first dungeon's kinda basic, but it does have a really cool boss fight. Apparently the 3rd dungeon is where the game starts becoming magic, but I haven't gotten there yet. I keep getting distracted by wanting to buy more stuff.

I still haven't ran into
Spoiler:
a Silent Realm yet. Are these even required? Doesn't seem like it.
In terms of difficulty, I've actually died in this one. That's a first for me with 3D Zelda games.

Devil Rising, that's the Wii Motion Plus video. If you played a Wii Motion Plus game before, you wouldn't have to deal with it now.

I'd be lying if I said I don't pay attention to everyone's posting history. And I do mean everyone's.

So I just got to the 3rd dungeon. A bit of a spoiler here...

Spoiler:
Seriously, before the 3rd dungeon is like a dungeon itself. It's one gigantic puzzle of mind melting insanity. Holy hell. And I couldn't even get all of the items there, either. The game just said 'too easy? Well, here's an hour and a half of you putting your mind to the test, sucker!

There is definitely WM+ overkill in this game. Tightrope walking, the puzzle keys, pulling back on the bow, and flapping the bird's wings are all things that don't really add much to the game. They're mostly just annoying.

I give them credit for trying to change things though, and we have to take the bad with the good. I am in LOVE with the stamina meter. Being able to jump up ladders and vines is a godsend. The adventure pouch and upgrade system add a really good dynamic to things too.

They're later in the game, after the first third of the game and are very much a requirement.

Btw, until I read the post above I had no idea you could use the Bow using motion. I just used the A button like a chump

Humm what?

Metroid other m was terrible, star fox 64 3D was a $40 game with local only multiplayer in an age where $1 games on iPhone have online multiplayer, and i got my first impressions of a game from a demo, and they weren't good.

If your getting at that I don't give games a chance, maybe. I for one don't believe in giving games a chance to get themselves started. I remember people telling me to give FF13 20 hours to get itself going. Heh, I told them in 20 hours I could play an awesome rpg like paper Mario.

Whether or not you like a game is matter of opinion and people are well within their rights to dislike a game...even a Zelda game. Put away the pitchforks please.

Quick question, try not to give too much away please

Was Demise an interesting character or does he basically have the personality of a brick and only appears at the end

Spoiler:
His character seems to have personality alright. He's respectful of Link. You do only see him at the very end. His actually design in terms of his looks I found to be quite generic. In the brief moments of dialogue with him, I think he showed more unique personality than Ghirahim or Ganondorf.

*thinks* Well your impressions are unfounded, which is how I feel on my own are regarding zelda, anyway no reason to argue it. I'm gonna keep working on the game, I'll give it to the third dungeon but after that I imagine it's just not game for me.

I love flapping the birds wings :0

Seriously though, there can't be enough motion controls for me. With the sole exception of the tight-rope walking (I've always hated that, regardless of the controls used) I just find it really entertaining and novel.

This times a million, for me it's just distracting and unneeded. Feels like they needed to make ropes to take advantage of M+, when it really didn't.

Thought I'd share an idea with people who have Club Nintendo accounts. While registering this game it would be an excellent time to remind Nintendo that you would like some certain RPG's from Japan, assuming of course that you do.

Well, I definitely feel like there many things (throwing, flapping, tightrope balancing, etc.), that don't need motions controls. But overall, it's a very good game and I'm enjoying it thus far. One odd thing, when I got MY copy (instead of playing my friend's), with the actual Wiimote+, instead of using the old MotionPlus attachment I had bought before, it worked a LOT better. Still not 100%, but it's much more responsive.

I think in general, Zelda is one type of game that I would prefer just pressing buttons for. Whereas Metroid Prime, FPS games, stuff like that, I absolutely prefer the Wiimote/Nunchuk setup. But Skyward Sword seems like a very good game so far, and I'm sure it'll only get better as I get further into it.

MUCH more responsive, really? What you're saying is that your Gold Wiimote+ is more responsive then you're old Wii Motion+ add-on?
I'm using my old Wii Motion+ add-on and as far as I can tell it works perfect*.

*The other night when the batteries got low I did notice it getting a bit less accurate, but that was just on the last 10% of the batteries life before I recharged. Perhaps your WiiM+ add-on was low on juice?

In this game, you can
Spoiler:
blast off Sheikah Stones by placing a bomb at their feet. Just like in OTT and MM.

Just got to the 6th Dungeon. 5th Dungeon was really cool, and the boss was neat, albeit a bit easy.

EDIT:
Aaaand I'm stuck in Dungeon 6. I don't see any way to progress and experimentation isn't working. Unless...no way, that's too hard to pull off.

I've finished the game now. took me 30 hours, there's a few things I'm not sure of so if anyone's finished the game I'd appreciate it if they told me what they thought.

MAJOR SPOILERS, BEWARE

Spoiler:
Is Ocarina of time a sequel to impa's time or link and zelda's time? I think Impa's time makes much more sense but where would that put link and zelda's time?

I don't quite understand how and why Ghirahim died, did Demise just kill him because he felt like it or was it something else

overall, incredible game, but not better than wind waker, majoras mask, twilight princess or ocarina of time

one more thing, for those that are worried about the game having another really easy final boss like twilight princess did can put their fears to rest :)
