Computer Gaming

Postby RoosterNash » 02 Nov 2011 15:00

Hey guys, i recently bought a new computer. I have very little understanding of computer specs and such so could you please tell me if my computer is powerful enough to play new and upcoming games such as Skyrim or Battlefield 3 even at the minimum settings. :?:

My specs are:
Windows 7 OS
Intel Core i5 2310 Processor
8 GB DDR3-SDRAM memory
1.5 TB Hard Disk
GeForce GT530 with 1 GB dedicated memory

If you need to know any other specs please tell me.
:D

You should be okay to run them, just maybe not at high/ max settings.

My brother's a big PC gamer, and I've heard him mention this site before to check if you can run certain games. I think it automatically detects your setup: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/amd/1170

The only thing I'd be worried about is your graphics card. (See here.) It looks like you may be able to run Skyrim with it, but Battlefield 3 might be a little laggy. If you are interesting on playing more games on your PC, you may want to consider investing in a better video card. Buying a ~$120 video card like a AMD 6770 will give you enough juice to get your BF3 going and start turning up some of those settings on Skyrim. It should also give you the necessary power to play every game that has been released and will be released until a year or so into the next console cycle, if the next consoles are significantly more powerful than the current generation.

Do you have your computer specs on hand so we can see if they meet the minimum requirements for Battlefield 3? (I'm not sure if this post is a question or not.)

you're good. you might not be able to run bf3 at ultra. but you should be fine at high.

most big PC games are 360 ports anyway.
