I felt that last year was kind of weak. People were complaining about every movie being a sequel or a remake, but the video game industry is constantly doing this and only within the last five years has it gotten on my nerves. 2012 looks a little different, but not much.

The Last Story, Catherine, Asura's Wrath, Kingdom's of Amalur, Twisted Metal - and that's just this coming month. I think this year looks pretty fine.

But yeah, the sequel culture isn't going anywhere. Not when there's shovel like FF XIII-2 (a sequel-of-a-sequel) coming out this week. I think it's always been bad though. I mean even way back in the NES days the likes of Mario were getting sequels practically every year.

Metal Gear Solid The Snake Eater 3D, Resident Evil Revelations, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Shifting World, Crush 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing 3DS, Paper Mario 3DS, Lego City Stories, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Wii U Launch games

That is my short list of games I want this year so yea it is good.

I have the wait and see approach, as I'm sure many others do as well. It is still early (January) so we won't know too much about this year's games until the year is almost over. Sure, we know of some big games coming out, but I'm sure there will be a lot of other we don't know of yet...

Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance - looks like a pretty good year to me!

I haven't had enough money for video games lately, so they're always far and few between for me(unless the next batch of free Club Nintendo games are any good). I don't even bother to get attached to anything new and upcoming unless I KNOW I'll have the money, or it's something I absolutely 'must have'. I do like some of the stuff coming down the line(Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, etc), but as often as I've either been drawing, stuck watching Youtube videos endlessly, or replaying older games, I probably wouldn't have the time for all the new games anyway if I COULD pay for them.
