Circle Pad Pro low on battery

Postby motherbra1n » 11 Feb 2012 19:46

I was just playing resident evil revelations and when i got to the main menu it told me that the circle pad pro accessory is low on power and that I should change the battery soon.

wtf? I thought a single AAA battery was supposed to last this damn thing for 500 hours, I've only played resident evil revelations for about 6 hours so far (and just incase that excludes the raid mode gameplay time I've played raid mode for just under an hour).

I tend to leave the circle pad Pro connected to the 3ds when I have stopped playing Revelations but I can't see how that would affect anything and even if it did, resident evil revelations was released 15 days ago. 15X24 is 360 so even if this damn thing drains your battery when you aren't using it at all that makes it last at least 100 hours less than they said it would.

Why am I even going on about that, unless nintendo stupidly programmed the thing to use up battery life when it's not being used but connected to your 3DS whilst it is off, getting low battery warnings after less than 7 hours of usage time is PATHETIC.

has anyone else got anything similar so far?

I could be wrong, because I don't own one, but isn't there an on and off switch on the circlepad as well? If so, was that left on?

There is no toggle switch. It might just be a bad battery.

You didn't get a fully charged battery, it happens a lot with new devices. No big deal, swap it out and you're good now for the next hundreds of hours

This. Just change the battery and you're ready to go. No need to make a big deal out of it, it's just a battery.

Does it come with batteries? I suspect Nintendo packaging a really cheap battery (= Low efficiency) with it.

yeah, it comes with one...i always say never to gauge battery life of something on the packed in battery. ive never had one of those work well for me.....except for the ones that came with the Zelda Wiimote. Those things lasted forever @.@

The battery could've been damaged internally during shipping.

Same thing happened to me after about 7 hours of Resi Evil. The battery I bought is still going strong.
