Nintendo World Store updates display cabinets to show a coll

Postby BSMario81 » 21 Feb 2012 23:50

I am truly sorry to those of you who missed the inclusion of games like Mother 3 and the Fire Emblem Series. This display is designed to show fan appreciation for some series that do not get enough public acknowledgment. Most of the members of Nintendo World's staff are attempting to write their love letter to the fans of these series. Most are just as upset as you that Duster will never feel the lash of Wess' tongue in English, or that we will never play through the second half of Marth's story without the help of a printed translation by our side. Take their inclusion as a glimmer of hope, not a slap in the face.

On a separate note, why do you guys obsess over Mother 3 so? I never played it but I played the other 2 and the series IS NOT THAT GOOD, other than the LOL SO RANDUMB XD !!! there's nothing special about it at all.

Anyways MOTHER 1 and 2 are "okay" games in my opinion, but that's mostly from the gameplay and poor plot, but the atmosphere and humor is good (and a lot of it is not lolrandom as you claim). And MOTHER 3 is a lot better then the other two games, taking the series' signature sense of humor (which doesn't seem to make sense to you anyways, but whatever) and adding an emotional plot and good gameplay to it.

In short, please stop getting mad at people for liking something you think is stupid on every Earthbound/MOTHER related story on GoNintendo.

This is the closest thing to a Mother related story I've ever posted on.

I just remembered your LOLRANDOM XD from a previous Earthbound-related post, so I found the urge to repeat it again was annoying, that's all.

I f***ing hate you Nintendo World Store. I know they're part of the series and all, but if a game wasn't released in a country don't f***ing display it!

Yes I'm very mad. I want all the Fire Emblem games and here they are just rubbing it in our face that they exist, but not in english (officially of course).

Damnit.

It's hard not to take it that way when a game in a series of absolute rabid fan members can't convince a company to release a game in a territory that has had better software sales in 42 of their last 45 games released in both Japan and the US. :?

That whole Fire Emblem display belongs to one person, except for the sword. The helmet is handmade, and everything else was found online. Please do not tell me about wanting the Fire Emblem games to come out here, because that one person you are trying to troll has tried to fight for the very thing you are asking for. This is the staffs way of sharing games with a group of people that may never have even heard of them before.

Has anyone taken the time to at least thank the Nintendo World Store staff for the fantastic display?

I expected way better than this - a bunch of butthurt Mother fans.

I mean, come on - write a letter to Nintendo, don't whine about it.

Wow, I didn't even remember that. I don't know if I should be honored or scared...... Doesn't change anything though; I still think that Earthbound is overrated, now more than ever. It can't compete against the likes of Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Pokemon, or Super Mario RPG. I found the so called humor very lacking: fighting random opponents such as rhino missiles/hippies/vehicles isn't funny or novel, it's just nonsensical. It's like when they made the new pokemon based on windchimes/chandeliers/garbage cans/ice cream cones/ect. It's just an easy out to not be creative. That's why I don't like it and I fully understand why they didn't release it here, I know I wouldn't have bought it. Why they acknowledge it is beyond me, maybe cause of it's heavy influence in Brawl?

And since you bring it up..... that pictures not right. How can a pricetag for Earthbound have a QR code?

PM me to add me to WiiU, PSN, Steam, or 3DS. Always up for a Brawl matchup too!

The population of the USA is more than double that of Japan, so that statistic is pretty worthless when comparing sales.

I'm a huge Mother 3 fan, but I'm also realistic - if the game came out here, it'd be censored and the translation would be toned down way more than Mother 2 was. So just play the accurate, extremely well-done fan translation while reading the amazing Fangamer players guide and be thankful that Nintendo isn't localizing it.

And frankly, if this is how an "absolute rabid fan member" tries to convince Nintendo to come out with games, I'm not surprised that they don't take you seriously, since you come across like a spoiled asshole - not saying you are one, but you definitely sound like one.

What do all of these franchises have in common? They are all under-appreciated. Seriously.

Personally, I'm more upset about the fact that the majority of the handheld Zelda game's are missing rather than the fact that it include Japan-only games. Zelda's an important and not very big franchise, all of them should be there.

I can't believe all of the butthurt going on in here over Mother or Fire Emblem.

It's a celebration of Nintendo history (and to a lesser extent, basically all franchises represented in Super Smash Bros. except Ice Climber) and then some.

This is easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

I can't believe how cool some of those displays are. Ah man. I hope it's still up when I got to NYC again.

@Adamant Ditto

Considering the fact they had Zelda in there since around/before Skyward Sword came out, and it had ALL of the games, including Crossbow Training, it's not that big of a deal. Though it is weird.

@Battlestriker123

Until you actually click the link and realize they have Mario and Zelda and Pokemon as well.

Those displays are rather cool though. :)

peppy wrote:The population of the USA is more than double that of Japan, so that statistic is pretty worthless when comparing sales.

Haha, no. The opposite in fact, when you realize that the average sales difference in their games between the US and Japan has been 3.9 times more.

Already have. The point is, if there's enough fan support, there's no real reason no to release it. Xenoblade comes to mind.

1) I didn't refer to myself as such. I said "a series with an absolutely rabid fanbase". Nice try though.

2)It has less to do with me than logic. And I fail to see how my statement that it's hard not to take the Mother 3 situation as a "slap in the face" makes me seem like a...erm, 6 asterisks.

You are quite the exaggerator sir.
