Honestly... would it kill you to wait a bit till E3 before pinning down any specs on Wii U? Many people have done that before only to be completely turned down by the next rumor. And if you were just joking then hmm......

Let's remember that a video game console does not need as much RAM to run a game as a PC which also has Windows to compensate for (it's a RAM hog). In retrospect, the 3DS has 128MB, the Vita has 512, the PS3 has 256 and the Xbox 360 has 512 "virtually."

And developers have made clear that amount of ram isn't enough...

You guys need to consider something here in regards to the amount of RAM: The Wii U will need at least around 1.5 to account for the 2 Wii U tablet screens it's confirmed to support in addition to a 1080p output on the TV. Remember, the controllers themselves dont have any processing taking place in them, just streaming.

Now Nintendo needs to make sure they don't drown out 3rd parties at launch and over the system's life span like they did with Wii and DS.

We don't need 3rd parties complaining on how they cannot compete against Nintendo's software.

Mind you, I do like topics like this. Some people leak plausible information that may or may not be debunked later in the future or doesn't matter if some first and second party developers use the hardware sufficiently in a way 3rd parties not named "Capcom" herp and derp all the way back to the farm (that being the case for systems starting with GameCube)

All this insider information on hardware (that may or may not be finalized) tells us is that the Wii U's RAM can range from 1.5 GB to as high as 4GB or 4.5GB if we're lucky (2.5 is the best optimistic case, even if others hope for 6GB or 8GB).

Whatever it may be, we don't even know if that's the final hardware until someone dissects the system like 3DS to be sure.

So let's just assume that the kits are close to final and the "Xbox360 x 2" part was true, even if there's a chance that will change in August or so. Given what we've already seen on the system and if they can deliver visuals like the Garden Demo with actual gameplay involved, would that really be a bad thing?
