Wii U - Nintendo's Next Console

Everything about the Wii and its games...

There's more to power than just RAM. Although more RAM would mean the increased likelihood of Wii U getting games that are also on 720/PS4.

Very true.

Hopefully it will remain around as powerful as the other next-gen systems, making ports possible.

I would really want to only have one console to play 3rd party games on for a while, picking up the other consoles when enough exclusives I want show up on the system.

That was originally my thought with the Wii, but we all know that it didn't work out too well.

I don't think 720/PS4 will be all that much more powerful, given the rumors about all of the peripherals it sounds like they may throw in (Kinect, HD Tablet Controllers, Move, Cameras, Sensor Bars, etc.)

Yeah, I knew that was gonna happen. I wonder if the Wii U will be out in time to get it at the same time as the other consoles.

I'm pretty sure no one would talk to him about the case anyway if he's not a journalist or not involved in the case in any manner.

We already know that it's going to be changed. Don't forget that Nintendo is changing the name to the Nintendo Juicy.

....anyways, I really do hope they change the name. I'm not a big fan of "Wii U", but I'll make due if need be.

Well, so far, we've more or less got confirmed:

Dragon Quest X (exclusive, along with Wii version)
Darksiders II
ACIII
Aliens: Colonial Marines (at least Sega said so)
Batman: Arkham City (most likely with additional content)
Ninja Gaiden 3
The next COD and BF games (undoubtedly)
Lego City Stories (exclusive)
Tekken game (who knows)
RE6 (most likely, huge shock if not)
Ghost Recon Online

That certainly seems like what people have been wanting in the form of "strong 3rd party support", or at least a good start to such. But still, people will continue to be skeptical. Alas.

I think it is highly unlikely that Counter-Strike will be a launch title for the Wii U, but there is maybe a 40/60 chance that Counter-Strike may be released on the Wii U.

I think Battlefield is still up in the air as to whether it'll be a port, a GOTY edition, or not even come out at all.

This would be one I would actually consider picking up over the other console versions (My PC can't handle it at all.)

I guess a few more iffy ones would be GTA 5, and if the story about Ken Levine is true then Bioshock: Infinite as well. Again, these are pretty up in the air and I certainly wouldn't say locked for the system.

Even if those don't pan out, I would honestly go as far as calling the Wii U's launch/launch window games the best I've ever seen out of any other launch. Provided of course these actually make it to that time frame. This isn't even counting Nintendo's own titles either.

The only problem is one that IMO bears repeating; while the Wii U will get all these awesome current-gen titles, what about the next gen? I certainly hope it doesn't end up like the Wii in that case.

So evil.

Is that someone who is supposed to be reliable? His signature does state he makes stuff up.
Skyward Sword has sold 3.13 million in like 3 months, and is the fastest selling Zelda. The highest selling Zelda, Ocarina of Time for N64 sold 7.6 million since it's release. That doesn't really seem like it's doing too bad to me. It probably won't reach OoT sales numbers due to being released so close to the end of the Wii lifecycle though.
And "Some of the GDC Wii U titles are pretty hot " is a very vague comment that is something that could easily be made up.

I'd say that's a pretty good indicator, though, those are some major titles already confirmed, the kinds of titles most Wii owners have complained about not getting. I'm sure not EVERYTHING will come to Wii U. But then again, not everything comes to PS3 or 360 all the time either.
