GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Dealing with the Nintendo haters in your lifeClick Here to View StoryBack in the swing of things, and it feels very good. Glad I'm getting back to the regular routine with End of Day thoughts. Things were just so busy for awhile there! I should be back in the normal flow from here on out. Famous last words, my friends! For now, I'll just run with that thought and head to bed. See you in a few, short hours!
When it comes to the internet, there are millions of people that hate everything. No matter how good you think something is, there are plenty of people just willing to shoot down that very thing you love. It doesn't matter what it is, who is doing it or what the actual content includes. There are more than enough people to toss out blind hate at the drop of a hat.
Nintendo fans know this all too well. It's been 'cool' to bash on Nintendo for years now. Ever since the N64 days, Nintendo fans have been crapped on for anything and everything. The company makes the same games over and over. Nintendo is too kiddy for its own good. The staple of characters/franchises are boring. Motion control is just a fad. Nintendo is about to close up shop. We've heard all these and many, many more.
The thing is, when it comes to internet bashing, you can just step away from it. You can argue or make valid points until your fingers are numb from typing, but it's just not going to get you anyway. The best way to deal with this is to just enjoy Nintendo for what it means to you, and don't waste your time getting involved in pointless messageboard battles. Be confident in what you enjoy! Be proud of what you put your free time into.
So yes, backing away from online hate is an easy thing to do. When things get hard is when that mentality comes at you in the real world. For every thousand people online that say they 'hate Nintendo', there are others that voice this opinion in the real world. Since we're all Nintendo fans here, I wanted to see just how often you've taken flack for your Nintendo love outside of the computer.
