Nintendo has a main flaw in development that other developers are doing right.
Release dates. For a long time now I have been waiting for games like brawl, and my fire has all burnt out. I dont even care anymore, and i probably wont pick it up. This is not the first time it has happened either. Batilion Wars 2, and also a few other.
When i was looking around the net for up and coming games, I notices that games like GTA4 and Metal Gear 4, Devil May Cry 4, and a fair few other games has one major thing in common, they have been/will be released on pretty much the same date world wide. Everyone got to taist what they have been wating for at the same time as each other.
But Nintendo (as you can tell i am from a pal region) keeps Months between region releases.
I picked up Mario Kart and Wii Fit first day. All the hype was still buzzing around the net, it was all fresh in my mind and i couldnt wait. But SSBB, meh, it is pertty much gone for me and i dont care anymore.
I think a world date is vital to a games popularity (or at least within a month). The hype is so fresh for everyone. Everyones build up is the same, and also, we dont get to hear about all the disapointments of the game before we can even nearly try it out (SSBB online anyone?)
Why can other developers do it but nintendo cant?
