Yeah and I want rainbows to fly out of my butt and make me sandwiches. These things are not destined to be.

Warren Spector wants Epic Mickey 2 to be as emotional as Toy

The "permanent changes" thing seems to only be related to the world, so I wonder if that will actually affect the story at all.

Having said that, thank goodness. I hated coming back to a place and everything being reset.

The concept of not having to defeat anything is pretty cool (though not exactly new or anything). I *really* want an option to switch to Oswald (and have Mickey follow you), so I hope that, if not in this game, a 3rd game does that.

As for story, I loved Epic Mickey's. When I saw the end of the original, I got kinda sad and that "feel good" thing at the very end, but oh man, I was so sad it was over, so I am glad I get to go back with a new story and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Not to say that you need three installments to have emotional moments (or that games can't have them by any means), but Toy Story had 15 years behind it and the childhood memories of an entire generation. Mickey Mouse has that too, but not 'Epic Mickey'. I wasn't sad when sad things happened to the Disney characters in Kingdom Hearts either (the Kingdom Hearts characters themselves are a different story entirely). I'm not saying he couldn't pull it off, but shooting for Toy Story is shooting really high.

@Windsor
My thoughts exactly. Toy Story is a really REALLY special case when it comes to Disney franchises that actually get to you.

Games have gotten to me emotionally, but generally when some ambitious developer comes along and touts that as an ambition of theirs in developing a game, I just end up disappointed in the final product. Who knows, if anyone can do it Warren Spector can. I'm just not betting on it.
