I think i'm on the final chapter
Spoiler:
[I stopped on chapter 25]
and for a really crazy story it's pretty good.

I also completed chapters 1 and 2 over 5.0 difficulty [I dread playing anything after chapter 10 on a 5.0 difficulty] and I played a few multiplayer matches those were really cool,I loved free-for-all.

I've played only the first 3 chapters so far. I've been replaying chapter 1 mostly, increasing the difficulty with better weapons. Managed to complete it at Intensity 6.8, if I remember correctly. I don't think I'll go any higher for now, as Twinbellows almost kicked my ass the last time.

Man you people and your Spoiler Tags. GRR.

I just beat Chapter 9 on 4.0 Intensity. My hand is mildly throbbing right now, despite not having issues yesterday. I think I'll go back and try the first chapter on 9.0 Intensity after doing it a 5.0 Intensity last night for the

So here's a question, is the spot pass gem random or did everyone get the same one? Mine says Palutena and is an Insight Staff Gem, what did everyone else get?

I absolutely love this game, but the controls can be a little bit annoying. I mean, I'm used to it, and I can play it ok with the touch screen aiming....but I really don't understand why they don't allow you to customize the controls and let the Circle Pad Pro control the aiming. Instead they have it so that if you assign a circle pad to movement, then the other circle pad (the CPP) is assigned to movement as well (same goes for aiming). I would have tried to do a work around with the D-pad if they would have allowed that as a option for movement (and then set circle pads to aiming), but alas they don't alow you to use the dpad for movement (and I understand why...but you can use the face buttons for movement, so why not D-Pad ;P). Honestly, adding CPP support for aiming would get rid of complaints from everyone about controls. Maybe, if that rumor about the next 3DS' firmware update turns out to be true, then there is a possibility they could add that via game update (which one of the points in that rumor stated that there would be a place on the eshop to update actual games if I remember correctly....but that's a rumor, so the odds of that actually being true is slim, let alone me wanting an update for Kid Icarus.)

I love the game and I'm in love with Palms, Orbitars probably taking second. I found out that the better the stylus the greater your control is over the game so far. Burning palms is too cool and I believe it's made by fusing the fortune bow and the first blade. Take note of what attributes are on the items you wish to fuse. Poison and Burning effects really help tackle these enemies as well as the fact that the burning palms have the highest melee strength of their type which may help to induce the status ailments I want. I've beaten Chapter one on 9.0 with them.

I believe I have that as well. I hope to get some Palm weaponry from her. Does anyone know if the Gem system clones your weapon for sharing? I don't want to risk losing mine.

You know, I have yet to unlock any Orbitars or Staffs yet (not enough hearts to unlock the Gem yet) But I'm anxious to try them out. Just got an awesome set of Tiger Claws with the burning effect though, nice stuff.

Such a Troll

Postby Syrek » 24 Mar 2012 22:19

So I was looking on youtube for some reviews of Kid Icarus: Uprising, mainly because I like to hear other peoples perspectives on the games that I like. So I came across a review that had a description saying something like "Don't buy this, its a piece of crap." Naturally I was interested to see what kind of crap was going on here. Honestly, this is the reason why I sometimes hate how anyone can review a game, because of morons like him. This is clearly trolling and he's obviously a major Sony fanboy. Check it out if you want to have a laugh at this idiot or you feel like you need to bring his ego down a bit like I did. :D Enjoy!

I have beat story mode, now I just have to beat the stages on the higher difficulties and I have to ask do you get any thing other then weapons for beating say chapter 1 on 9.0, because I am going to try to complete some of those treasure hunting puzzles that unlock when you meet the specific requirements.

Edit:

I just watched that guys review.Wow I didn't know Sony fanboys could beat any game that takes the average person 6 hours or longer to beat in 2 hours, I need to play longer it seems.

It seems that Weapon Fusion is where it's at. The shop is..."Don't they know I'm saving the world?!" expensive for something you could make of comparable strength. And if anything, once you become knowledgeable enough about the traits you want on your desired weapons you won't really need it. Winning online items seem to make it even more easy to create interesting and wonderful items. I wish you could purchase something to cut down the powers for the grid, that's something I'd pay money for. Oh, and Bumblebee :-D.

That troll wasn't even worth linking, no offense.

The weapons have greater power and better traits and you make more Hearts and I'd also assume you'd be able to go through any trial door with it being at max difficulty for that stage. But as for the Treasure rewards? I do not know.

I've played the game for 10:01 right now, getting through Chapter 16 at 5.0 Intensity. The last 2 chapters have kind of kicked my rear end. I still haven't died and I'm still really enjoying it. I'm close to getting my first 300 Valued item.

I beat the story mode yesterday. Only chapters above a three were the first three! This game's tough! I use the stylus and stand, and I love the controls. It works perfectly. You just need to find a comfortable position. Haven't been able to play online yet. My internet is down until tomorrow. :-(

I played online once. Light vs Dark. Happens I got killed at the end of the light side's life bar and turned into Pit. Our team then killed someone quickly and they turned to Dark Pit. What ensued was an intense battle between me and Dark Pit, with interference from both teams, that lasted about a minute. With little life left, I landed the killing blow on Dark Pit and won the match for the light team. At least, I think I made the final blow. Pit was the one helping Dark Pit up on the victory screen.

You made the killing blow then. If it was someone else then it would have been their character picking up Dark Pit.

Pain caused by Kid Icarus: Uprising???

Postby thatrandomdude » 26 Mar 2012 16:35

I don't know about anyone else, but the controls don't bother me. So many reviews have said that the controls cramp your hands, and i just read an article on GamesRadar about it being one of the top 7 most painful games to play (i think it was #4 or 3). They claim it hurts your palms, arms, and burns your wrists. What? I for one have not once experienced any discomfort while playing the game with it's default controls, and have even played it for several hours straight. What about everybody else? Do the game's controls cause you discomfort?

Solo:
- Beat the game tonight. It was pretty fun and ridiculous towards the end. It also got really hard for some reason. One level I ended up dying in a Flight Section before I knew what happened. I also
Spoiler:
took down Boss Battles on Easy barely. I wish I could take some battles on individually so I could improve them over time.

Together:
- I played one online match of Light v. Dark, which was pretty fun. I believe it balances teams so the people with more powerful weapons are on one side while the weaker ones are on the other. That way, it takes time to kill the weaker time. Also, taking down an Angel isn't easy at all, but I managed to do it since I got the Achievement for it. :)

I'd give this game an 8.5/10 mainly because of the control issues. Even after beating the game I can't say I mastered them because I still have camera issues every so often.

I've been to every store in town that could conceivably carry video games and haven't been able to track down a copy. Obviously Game and Gamestation aren't carrying which sucks, but the guy at Grainger says it's been an unprecedented success in terms of 3DS game sales, including Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. Seems the worries about controls haven't affected as many people as I first thought.

Ordered from Amazon, super psyched after hearing all the good feedback from you guys.

I got my Nintendo power today and first I'm just gonna say whoever runs the packaging department or whoever green-lit a magazine without a plastic cover with cards that can be ripped out of the book by the mail people is a moron. I got my cards but I was not pleased with how careless the publisher was with this issue [especially considering how expensive some cards are going for.]

Personally, I think this is a GREAT game. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining, actually I could see alot of peoples points. However, this game is one of these games where you have to play and get use to it. At first I was thinking "Ah man, I got ripped off, the controls suck, the camera sucks and I'm not sure if I even want this game." However, after a couple hours of gameplay and getting use to the controls and camera (I'm left handed by the way) I realized that this is a very addicting game. Has a great story and I beat it just a couple of hours ago and have to say, I rofld quite a bit and loved the randomness that it presented. I WILL say that the one major con that i found in the game is the story line being told while you were in combat, which made it VERY difficult to follow. However, I guess just boosting your volume would easily fix that, which I couldn't do XD... The online action is awesome, and in general I feel that I'm playing a pvp based game even in solo mode just because on how fast it is. This is my first game for the 3ds, and I must say that I think I definitively hit the gold :)!

i just finished ch. 10 and am enjoying it so far. so far i'm averaging around the 3.5 intensity level. am i the only one who finds the flying stages to be way more boring than the land sections? it would've been good to be able to set the flying section intensity level different than the land sections, b/c the flying sections seem way easier.

It's taken awhile, but I think I'm getting the hang of this game. I last left off in Chapter 8 in Solo and have yet to still win an online match. I need better weapons and more practice. I should train with bots in local multiplayer.

The AR Cards I got by default: Palutena, Pit, Violet Palm, Medusa (Queen of the Underworld), Three-Headed Hewdraw, Mik
The AR Cards I got from Club Nintendo: Palutena (Rare), Drill Arm, Great Reaper
